I am from psychology background and I have done 3 courses of Vipassana meditation. For me it has been a life changing experience. But I agree with everything that you said. It's not for everyone. And one should start with some light meditational practices. In my case, 6 years of studying psychology and self-Psychoanalysis helped me to go through the first course. It was extremely powerful and traumatic but life saving at the same time. What Vipassana did in a few days, psychology couldn't do for me in 6 years.

Vipassana meditation is a wonderful gift discovered in human life by sidhartha gautam.
This is just the law of nature. Nothing else. Try to understand before you make any judgement . It is always there either there is budha or no budha. It's the practical law of the universe. All you try to do is understand by your own experiences so that you will be liberated. ❤❤

To register for a vipassana course person has to disclose if they have any psychological conditions and also if they are on any medications. Many people don't disclose it.
Also during course students are also encourage to ask questions if they have difficulty in understanding the technique. There is a dedicated time for QnA twice a day.
At around 150k- 200k people enroll for vipassana course every year. Many of them have benefited from the vipassana. Their positive testimonies are all over the CZcams. Author of this video has mention one specific case ((she had previous condition)). that doesn't justifies the the misleading title.
There are many testimonies about this technique given by psychologist on internet. Reader should watch
ead those before making their mind.

Not sure if he got the technique right/went to depths, but he said it was nice experience overall (enjoyed the discourses much). He hasn’t meditated since. Just wanted to share, if my father did it, any other lay person can enroll. And they do I ask you in the application if you have health conditions, and/or if it runs in the family, including mental disturbances.

Yes , intense vipasana meditation can be very harmful to some people with history of psychiatric disorder or if they are on psychiatric medications or if they have a family history of psychiatric disorders .
But vipasana in itself is safe and beautiful when practised for an hour or two every day with good adequate sleep in the night. Gradually , awareness can be practised while moving in the market place too.
Avoiding vipasana while going to sleep, helps in sleeping well . Please be careful 🙏

    Dear Bodhi Abhishek!
Yes, that's true and it's always ugly when you face your own truth in such a "concentration" centre/course.
Definitely believe that preparation is required to attend the Vipassana.
But if done with preparation and conditioning of the mind, body and emotions I feel it is a potent technique for all.
Please share a video of you playing the flute.
I remember you playing it so beautifully on the final day of my first 10-day course at Dhamma Salila, Dehradun.
Whatever Vipassana might have done or not done for my life.....I am still very grateful and blessed that I could know and practice this life-changing experience of which you were also a part.
I plan to someday give Sewa as an old student.

"I usually don't comment on videos, but I felt compelled to write this."
    I have done Vipassana twice.
Vipassana can sometimes be very challenging and can have negative effects on your life. You see, if anything has happened in your life, such as pain that faded away simply because you were busy or you forgot about it, it means that a new layer has covered it up. However, the pain still exists beneath that layer because the subconscious mind stores all the experiences you have gone through in life.
Once you start practicing Vipassana, it will begin to heal all the pain that has faded but not been fully healed. There is a lot of potential for all those layers that have faded to resurface, and you may experience anxiety or depression. I don't mean to demotivate you; I am simply expressing what I have personally experienced. However, I also know many people who have had positive experiences with Vipassana.

Atleast in this video you are right to some extent but from my personal experience no prior preparation is required but you should have strong determination to complete 10 days. If you are leaving after 1-2 days of course then it doesn’t make any sense, real experience will be after day 6-7.

Bro some sankhara are so strong that it can mess you up mentally, but it can happen with any other meditation practice, I thing Vipassana gives you insight (pragya) so early that you can process it faster then any other method of meditation, see for your self about kundalini awakening which can creat havoc in life or any other method in which the insight come way later and you are stuck with delusional experience and can go mad, on the other hand Vipassana untangle your trauma memory sankhara so well that chances of side effects are in my understanding of whatever I have learned is least. You know people come with stuck energies and different weird experiences of chakra and energies after doing intense yoga and kriyas to Vipassana and they are finally able to comprehend the nature of their experience. So that's why it is superior to all the yoga, so it is called the middle path. From the beginning you are trained to be equanimous and while on other practices you are just working on your energies and it may lead to delusion because you ultimately in every possible yogic possible you are needed to go the middle path. That's the only way. Patanjali yogic method, kriya yoga and in other bhakti marg there comes a time when you evolve to the level just before you get breakthrough when a yogi experience ritambhara pragya, in Vipassana we are training from the beginning to get insights (pragya) and in so precise 14 levels. Such a great method Buddha has crafted. Buddha was genius 👌🙏

The time shedule from dhamma vipassana is unnatural and harmful. Vipassana is making your body and mind awake. When you can't sleep in the nights because you are still awake of the final Meditation until 9 p.m. and the pain of 10 hours sitting you can get in serious mental and physical trouble. Better meditate on your own or Look for a different school/foundation what is free of Tradition/Religion and with better and healthy conditions. You will be successful and develope concentración, awareness, understanding, wisdom of mind, body and life. Don't follow the path of anyone. Go your own path.

This true i done vipashana 2 times, it is really higher level, not for beginners. There is a lot of information about mind and body. They will not explain it, there is necessary of yoga practice they will not tell about it. They reduce food suddenly this is also wrong. In there teaching indirectly criticises hindu religion, but in reality Budha practices Shiva tantra 112 in that one.

    • @paulalecq388
      @paulalecq388 Před rokem

There is no such criticism in vipassana. The teaching simply says not to mix any other meditation technique along side it. Even in the 112 techniques we are advised to pick 1 technique and stick with it. One may try a couple of techniques but once you get that one that aligns with you the most, stick to it.

It's a cult, completely revolving around the founder. Even though he's been dead for ten years, he is still leading the courses through video recordings. There are physical and living "assisting teachers" at the center but they only repeat the instructions from the founder. It's a heartless setup with no regard for individual differences and needs. Everyone is expected to blindly surrender and follow orders without complaints or even the right to express difficulties in an environment that is there to truly listen and support. You could as well just let the recordings keep playing without any so called assistant teachers. Talking to a wall is more helpful than being disregarded and told to just keep doing what the great guru tells you to do. It's a cult.

It's worse than just a cult, it's also OCCULT!!! I left after 5 days, when I realised that I got into o religios occultist sect!!! The founder chants 'blessings' that nobody understands, which last from about 30 seconds in the first day to 3 minutes by the 5th day. I was very much involved in different types of yoga practises and New age and after 3 years, when those teachings/practises became EVERYTHING for me, and after I spent to much money on them, I found out that all are occult/demonic teachings/practises!!! I suggest to read the books written by Klaus Kennett and you will understand what I'm saying. The ONLY Truth is Jesus Christ! May God illuminate you and show you the TRUE path to him!

    • @JustFollowingOrders12
      @JustFollowingOrders12 Před 20 dny

@carmen6465 I know the path you are going down, and it is VERY DANGEROUS. Occult just means "hidden" and has nothing to do with new age, anything demonic or evil. And Vipassana isn't occult at all. This whole line of thinking comes from fear based Christian propaganda. I used to be like that too. You can't get truth from books only experience. Books can only point the way. What you believe becomes your personal reality. Be careful what you believe

Actually ive tried Vipassana before as well as some unconventional meditation like Dynamic Meditation and i will say this:
Vipassana is a very good meditation but its not meant for everyone and more importantly especially not something you want to start with especially for some people who cannot handle the absolute silence and are addicted to thoughts. I am one such person. Which is why im led to believe Oshos beginners Kundalini Meditation and Dynamic Meditation is a good place to start.
As osho himself says a lot of the silent 112 meditation techniques are silent and modern man requires a shock to their system to alleviate them temporarily at least from intrusive thoughts. This is why the first 3 steps for dynamic meditation is ao important...
    1) chaotic breating
    2) catharsis (scream/shout/laugh)
    3) jumping Hoo chant
These 3 steps are leading to the 4th which is the almost equivalent of silent Vipassana. Contemporary man needs shock and exhaustion to repel thoughts from coming into the mind easily. Otherwise meditation is just playing an endless entertaining movie in ones head... I can see many people failing because of this... I have now discovered why Vipassana hasnt worked for me as well as i would have wanted it to.

      1. Do you have any evidence to substantiate that remark?
      2. Unfortunately for you I don't see the world in such dichotomies that nothing bad can come out of a good person or nothing good can come out of a bad person. So even if he did rape children (and I'm not even suggesting I think he has) I still maintain that he carried out some of the most innovative meditation techniques around. Cheers 🥂

Firstly they dont die because of vipassana .
They couldnt bear to encounter their madness. So quickly so deeply and death happaned. They encounter themself their madness directly instantly And they are not ready gör that.
They didnt even imagine that. Because in these kind of centers there are only sitting long hours they dont do catarsis And for most of us before doing silently we have to do catarsis to allow our deep madness And neurosis come out. They force themselves to face directly to hidden or pressured neurosis in the unconsious deeply. İt has to be not so quickly it has to be gradually. İn conceration center people dont have deep neurosis so that reason they can suggest it but who is living with modern cultered society And family neurosis can be soo deep they dont understand modern cultured civilizated Man problem at all. And whole people very different one treatment for whole humanity i guess a Total bullshit.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 What are you smoking? I've been practicing Vipassana meditation my entire life without a 10 day course ha ha ha ha ha it's not about the mind it's clearly, Vipassana is a way of self-transformation through self-observation. It focuses on the deep interconnection between mind and body, which can be experienced directly by disciplined attention to the physical sensations that form the life of the body, and that continuously interconnect and condition the life of the mind.
Are you trying to explain me about Vipassana someone who had practiced it my entire life? this is nothing more than Hindu bashing of the Buddha's teaching on your aim towards converting people into Hinduism and wonder why Siddartha moved towards the Sramana monks? Go on tell me about Vipassana i had practiced my entire since i was a child so go on.

vipassana and those retreats are for the rich and the weirdos. I couldnt stay at one place being charged hundreds maybe thousands for not doing anything and staying quiet since Im a individual who believes proaction is the key to my biggest fullfilments and dreams and the key to humanity evolutions and success. Ive been practising meditation on and off since I was 23 even before my prefrontal cortex was fully developed. Ive been one of those guys who used to meditate for 40min in silence everyday for a year. I dont do it anymore because its a bunch of crap. What happens after such big meditations is called disassociation. Interoceptive meditation if done for too long is only going to mess up with your neurochemistry. It happen to me and it happens to everyone who do it and doesnt have the common sense and self awareness that youre simply numb af to whats hapoening to your surroundings. People here comparing themselves to others is just bunch of inward narcissism and actually quite cynical. Also vipassana claims you should not eat animals, dafuq. So vipassana starts being a religion abnd oall those guru scams. If you actually go and see the profile of the people who are into these hyper spritual practices and inclusive groups are the most trauma filled, insecure and the less altruistic and self praised individuals Ive seen. cmon go get a life and do something for society. and remember I still meditate I dont go around suking gurus dick left and right. have a beer

it is very good that you expose this matter because it is completely overlooked & for obvious reasons. Vipassana is definitely not for everyone at all yet Goenka organization does not inform that prior preparation is a must. No traditional teacher will teach a beginner from society meditation for 10 day in silence, not even to a beginner monk who has renounced all worldly activity. As people from mainstream society are not informed, they just have access to vipassana straight away & it has of course positive side-effects but at what cost. So, what is being said here is that traditionally there is a preparation process through hatha & karma yogas for at least of several regular years, along with study of yogic philosophy to get proper understanding of yogic path to liberation. In modern era, which is highly extroverted & sensorially over-stimulated, with much toxic food & substances as alcohol, nicotine, medicines & pollution, body & mind are out of balance to undergo efficiently such a deep process as a vipassana to get maximum effects. Tradition also says that anyone starts from the beginning ABCD not from quantum physics. We are talking that even healthy fit mentally stable people require a preparation process. That's what happens is many people do not get real benefits from vipassana & do not repeat it because simply they skipped all preparation part. Any serious seeker on the path, is well aware, spiritual process is not a joke & is not to be taken lightly as if it was a sort of a physical boot-camp or intensive. So, from the depth of my Heart, i urge people to get well informed & prepared before deciding to go into first vipassana for their own maximum benefit & safety. Do some yoga, detox yourself, do a panchakarma retreat, meet people who have done at least several vipassana & are serious on the spiritual path, do your research always, do not believe anyone.
