I am working on this very kit. It is a fun one. I also built it as a kid. Poorly. This is a gorgeous build. I love the colors too. Beautiful. Thank you for sharing David.
That '59 Impala hardtop and the convertible were beautiful kits. I had the hardtop many years ago and painted it to match the box art, but I like the color you've chosen here.
Nice build, so many do not do all the chrome that these had. My family owned one, and in the early 70's my step brother turned it into a "Stock" Car Racer, and finished it off in the Demolition Derby. Thanks for the memories.
That Impala is really detailed. Nice job. I think it's actually a cool idea glueing a hood up in cases where the motor has so much detail. Not sure what you meant by 'magnet trick' so I'll have to look that up. I imagine it would be like using small neodyminum (super) magnets to hold a pivoting hood or something like that although I'm wondering how to place such magnets.
Beautiful build David! I'd like to try one myself! Take care my friend 😊!

Beautifully done on that '59 Impala David! That 50's Aqua was definitely a lovely color! Quite the appropriate color choice!
