At least one structure (unnecessarily, and infuriatingly) destroyed at the Bear Mtn Fresno radio towers. What's frightening - the radio call "fire threatens the repeaters. If we lose coms, stop structure protection/evacuations, and return to Bear Mountain Pizza." (Summarized quote. Check my live stream last night for full audio.)
This Bolt fire took hours to get there. All that was necessary - call in a crew from a nearby town to babysit the towers for the night. What happened? Why was critical infrastructure left to defend itself?
No excuses. If the grass had been pre-burned in the weeks prior, and the power poles of this critical infrastructure not been wooden - the grass fire would have passed harmlessly by.
Instead, we almost had neighborhoods abandoned, with pets/livestock yet to be rescued - due to neglect of mowing/burning the grass!

Fire is so fast, devastating and deathly - thanks for all you do Kathryn - made a connection and hop to have a new friend☺

Thank you, Kathryn, for doing this. In the S.F. Bay Area, we have hot smokey days with poor air quality -- to let us know there's wildfire activity not far away. Beautiful, often foggy S.F. is Nature's gift to humanity😊❤ But too bad for us, those "fallen angels" in local and statewide "politics" have managed to desecrate and nearly destroy this once great City by the Bay😢

Hello all...I'm at work but with you all in spirit

  • @Dave_9547

Looks like a little more ground clearing was in order around the towers.

  • @saddletramp1860

Heard a new meteorological term today "flash drought" lots of rain in parts of Texas, now no rain, and hot. Lots of grass. Fire season could be bad.

  • @janjohannessmith7033

Just horrific, the giant fireball was scary

  • @roblangsdorf8758

Because of the beetles we have lots of dead trees to cut down and remove. Because of the rain we have places where the grass is 6 feet tall. We don't have the equipment or the manpower to clear it all.

  • @lesliepropheter5040

Celebrate the rain, hate the green when it dries up

  • @dennisdoty523

Keeping your sites clean and proper fire clearance is so important... Millions of dollars

  • @olivi3339

Fire near. la pine oregon is getting interesting.. very windy!

  • @ExileTheKnightsOfMaltaNow

What the heck are we looking at? So it climax is at the base of the antenna tower and then just Fizzles out? That looked like some kind of frequencies or electrical event,.. unless there's flammable equipment there that could account for all of that one would think would have been turned off

  • @ExileTheKnightsOfMaltaNow

Very thought-provoking indeed..... I would pass that along to Dutch
