Wow! Vashti is perfect of course... but im also blown away by what is added by the accompanist. He plays just the right amount, not too much, not too little, stays out of her way, and genuinely adds emotion. You can see how entranced he is himself... like "i'm so lucky to be hear to experience this"... and it comes through beautifully.
Cannot help but feel joy when you hear Vashti sing, so glad she is now getting the wiser recondition that she so very much deserves. That she still sounds so fresh and still touring is just wonderful.
It reminds us that life can be simpler, and freer - that it was before, and can be again...

vashti bunyan sounds the mom I wish I had, singing me lullabies, and rubbing my hair as I fall asleep.
Well, I'm 32 and, honestly, she's kind of the woman I wish I had.
This calm and moving music reminds me of the folk music that I heard in the background of western Europe during my travels in the late 80's. I am grateful to discover Vashti today.
Wow didnt know she is still alive,thought she was like one of those hidden gems from the 70s that got lost forever in time but somebody rediscovered her works again

Vashti grows on you. I remember hearing about her when she did the Prospect Hummer EP with Animal Collective and I could never get into that particular album much as a teenager. It was pretty it just didn't stick with me. Then I think I heard some of Just Another Diamond Day and the song where it clicked was I'd Like to Walk Around in Your Mind. Now that I love her music I feel like she is someone that everyone should give a chance. It's just such calm and lovely music.
