    Hey guys! My comment might be a bit longer but first of all I want to thank you for this outstanding review with your experiences and your awesome chanel! It‘s really a delight watching you fly - especially the Q400.
    As I „grew up“ with FSX I was really looking forward to the FlyJSim as I thought X-Plane was always the better platform anyway.
    I would consider myself a Q400 ‚diehard‘ fan 😂 I already took 92 flights as a passenger since 2010 in this thing and I literally just book flights just to fly with it. It‘s such an awesome aircraft. Powerful, capable and just so raw. It‘s really a joy … It has so many things a jet just can‘t deliver. I love the Q400, I really do!
    Therefore I love to analyse the whole behavior of a simulated Q400 with its real world counterpart. That‘s what I also did with the majestic.
    I share your opinion when it comes to the comparison of the FlyJSim and the Majestic. However it‘s just outstanding what FlyJSim did to its simulation. It really feels like the real thing in terms of sounds and the whole model. Especially its cockpit - The proportions look so much more realistic compared to the majestic in my opinion.
    One thing I really like is that the FlyJSim seems to perform much more realistic than the Majestic in terms of basic performance etc. Flying with Pitch Hold of 5° gives you reasonable speeds while reaching top of climb - That‘s where I feel majestic lacks a lot of immersion and I had a lot of discussions with them but they might not change its flight performance as they had to rewrite the whole performance section for it.
    Then I played around with the files in the majestic and compared real world videos to match climbperformance during Pitch Climb etc.
    After two years I got myself a Q400 I was quite proud of and always wished it would been done this way by majestic. Cause I feel the whole performance is where the Q400 really shines, that‘s why I understand that the missing yaw effect just kills the whole experience for you.
    That was just a small background information about myself. However I got a question to you. I saw it a lot on videos and I feel like the flaps on the FlyJSim doesn‘t produce enough lift. It‘s also visable in your review. You‘re approaching with around Vref+5 and Flap 15° and your pitch is really high. And sometimes even at 5°. When comparing to real world videos that is only the case when the speed is really near Vref or at Vref. When flying faster (Vref + 5) I feel like it should be at around 2-3° … How do you feel about that and the rather high torque when approaching with Flap 15° (15% versus 25%)?
    I also noticed that the elevator trim is really in a high nose up position after landing. I feel like that are also necessary things to look at for the FlyJSim Team. Would be glad if you could answer my question! Thank you so much and greetings from Berlin from a Q400 Freak :)

    Thank you for the first educated, unsolicited and honest review of this thing. Keep in mind the MJC plane is 10(?) years old, of course this is going to look better. My only wish was they spent time on the cockpit that was wasted on the cabin. And those power levers :(

      @Afrikaanrex For MSFS - I doubt (So Ive been told) the P3D will not get any more development.

    Apparently the lack of rudder trim is because of the way Xplane deals with the Yaw Damper so latest news is that it cannot be simulated unless they found a work around

    15:45 When I expressed the same idea (about TCAS and WX/TERR not available after couple months passed since release) on their Discord server, they permanently banned me. And guess what - it's almost 2 years since your videos and WX is still not present, though TCAS and Terrain Radar are available. It's a great aircraft, but I agree. For the money customers pay for this addon they expect it to have all the major features at launch. Thank you for you thoughts on the addon. And for your Majestic tutorial series.

      Yeah that’s not a great look for any developer. Glad you enjoyed the videos though!

    We have a terrain radar and working circuit breakers now, and with some flight model updates, the yaw on takeoff is now properly simulated. Unfortunately Flyjsim refuses to implement the default NEXRAD based simulation, and insists on waiting for LR to release their own proper weather radar API before putting it into the Q4XP. Also XP users tend to value cabins a little more than P3D/MSFS ones do. Nice video
    Update: Shared flight, which was originally developed by Flyjsim, is now available for free. So that counts I guess.

    V speeds are set based on where you have the flaps when you click it.

    I have MSFS and XP11 but the the Majestic Q400 is the main reason I still have P3D (also for the Milviz King Air B350 and Flight1 King Air B200). I'll be keeping an eye on the FJS Q400 though.

    Hi, the plane has been through a lot of updates and now in version 1.31, it seems they have improved the yaw in the flight model, what do you think?

    • @FlyFromHome
      @FlyFromHome  Před 3 měsíci +1

      Afraid the yaw issue still exists! It's apparently to do with the way XP handles turboprop logic!

    Q4XP now has come to a few updates and seems they fixed a lot of things. So what do you think about it now? Is it still a bit overpriced and lacking the thing that you said in the video or it's worth buying it at full price now?

    • @FlyFromHome
      @FlyFromHome  Před 2 lety +2

      They still haven’t fixed the lack of yaw in the flight model, so for us the price is still too much for what it is. The Q4XP looks incredible but the real Q400 experience is still the Majestic.

      @@FlyFromHome According to a Q400 pilot the trim is needed as of March: CaptainK - "It flies very realistically, you always have to put rudder trim after adding power or reducing power which is exactly in real life, flap 35 with prop 1020 is sensitive like real life and taking off with flap 15 also behave the same way in real life ( we use that out of short runways)"
