If you saw his recent InStyle magazine interview he's done playing vampires and he's been saying it since the show ended 6 years ago lol. I'm sure most of them feel the same. Actors want to play different roles and characters, not the same role forever. That's why Paul did Tell Me A Story after TVD and Star Trek now. TVD was a big chapter in their lives but they've all moved on.
Nina, Ian, Paul and a bunch of other cast members are going to an event/con thing in December. Nina, Ian and Paul will appearently have a panel together.
They can fix that awful ending where the two worst characters get to be happy

Here’s the irony. Paul Wesley would portray Claude Speed from Grand Theft Auto 3 very well. Put him in a black jacket and make him do criminal things and no lines. He’s definitely fit for that role

And the last scene was a bit confusing when she met Damon in the cemetery after medical school and then she went back to her home and seen her parents and rest of family again..
