What I love about this is that he sings it as if it were opera, and he were a prophet, not just as a succession of pretty notes.
Absolutely! It drew you in as a proclamation.
Superb performance of Josh Cohen on trumpet and vocalist Jeffrey Strauss. A 5 star performance.
This is such a wonderful rendition! None of your dry stuffy artefacts posing with their voices - the soloists 'tell' the story'! Terrific!!!!! Thank you all. Apollos Fire - all your work is a joy to listen to.
Great job Josh Cohen on trumpet!
The finest performance of this aria I have ever heard! An artist who understands that Handel was an opera composer before he began composing oratorios. The most varied, intricate, artistically performed ornamentation! Kudos also to the Baroque Trumpet Soloist, and amazing Conductor!
Michael Miller : Only a Jewish bariton as Jeffrey Strauss could have the feeling about the resurrection of the dead. Even that this text comes from the NT it is in accordance with the Jewish bible(AT) and the rabbinical tradition.
Kudos Jeffrey!
Thanks so much!
An assurance for resurrection! Thanks Jeffrey Strauss for your feelings and the quality of your voice, only a child of the covenant could do it so well.
Two children. Josh is, too.
I took my mom to see the live performance in Akron back in December. It was fantastic! Bravo to bass and trumpet and all of Apollo’s Fire! Bravo to Jeannette!
Great reading!
Que belleza! Los amo!! Magnifica presentación
real gems of angelic sounds to infuse our hearts......jn
Lovely❤
When you wish that you knew better Italian but then are reminded about what a privilege it is to speak the same language as Handel...
This is even better than the version by alastair miles !

The trumpet. . . da capo
The trumpet shall sound
And the dead shall be raised incorruptible
And we shall be changed
For this corruptible must put on incorruption
And this mortal must put on inmortality
La trompeta sonará
Y los muertos resucitarán incorruptibles
Y seremos cambiados
Porque este corruptible debe vestirse de incorrupción
y este mortal debe vestirse de inmortalidad
