Great road trip! And I most certainly appreciate that you own up when you misinterpret data, etc.
As for showing the RV park before it's completed, I like that because we can see the before & after. Hopefully, you'll have opportunities to record on the job-in-progress. That's always fun to see.
Thanks again ... you're the best!

That is going to end up being a fabulous place. It already has great views, good pricing and even includes utilities and WiFi (although much like you, I suspect the WiFi speed there is not going to be anything to brag about and might not achieve the promised speed.) If a person or a couple want to live very affordably in the Chapala area and they already own a good size motorhome that they would be comfortable living in full time then they ought to hightail it down there and get a spot before they pretty everything up and the demand goes up along with the prices. It presently seems like a heck of a good deal and darn hard to beat with only being 10 minutes from Chapala and offering some real peace and quiet along with it, which is something I suspect is not all that easy to come by in Mexico :-) I think that you did a great job with the tour and questions and if you had waited until it was all gussied up there might not be any spaces left! As it is, I think you gave interested people a great heads-up to get in on a very nice and inexpensive living opportunity. I just hope the new residents also have cars or motorbikes to get into town for food, essentials, and entertainment.
P.S. You look much better in living color! :-)

  • @HamsterLife_EnglishLearning

Seems various shades of yellow and red and your colour paint of your home is quite popular in Mexico. Cheap rates! I wonder how it will look once the park is complete. The woman (Hala I think she said, I don't know how to spell it) said showers, so far there is only one of each in video. Quick glimpse but beautiful sink, similar style but different pattern tiled sink. Oh see more of another sink. They would make a killing if they had 1/2 = dozen of them cabins for RV'er park guests of smaller sizes with bunks, pool, & half dozen washroom with showers, refreshment stand /hot dog/fries, burgers, salads, drinks stand if I had the money and it were my land. Though it looks like they are just starting out and building their way up. Thanks for the great tour. I get for years and only pay for 20 downloads with Cogeco Cable but I get. Now a days you tend to get more then what you pay for and not less with Cable anyway. Wireless and not hardwired when I did the test just now.

Great tour Jerry. I did find her place some months back doing a google search for RV parks. I didn't mention it to you then, thought it might be a bit far to drive. After seeing this video, I see it it not. Ever thought of opening up your own ;) You might need a good manager, and I work cheeeep! :D LOL.

If I had control of the federal zone in from of me, I'd put a couple of pad down there. :)

    Hi JC,
Another great video. This question should have been asked last video. We have watched over one hundred videos about Lake Chapala all positive. We have planned for over a year and will be coming as soon as our house sells. A few days ago we viewed a video made on Feb 17,2019 by David Truly , he talked at the LCS Open Circle. He stated the crime has gone up to 38 % and that people are buying homes because they can’t find rentals. We did not take this talk as positive . For us his talk was the opposite of what we have been hearing. He appeared to be an expert on the area. Can you give us some peace of mind since we will be coming soon and need to rent . Thanks JC we value your opinion.

Rents are going up, the housing market is hot in the 200K range and flat in the 400 to 800 range. Affordable places in most ranges are available a little farther out from location, location, location in Ajijic. Crime reporting is up because expat groups and the local government have made progress in encouraging reporting of crimes. English speaking officers where you report crimes, phone numbers answered in English at the police dept, etc. That's part of what's talked about as increased crime. There are occasional upticks in cartel violence. 18 bodies were discovered just before that Open Circle talk just over the hill towards Guadalajara. A Canadian Expat was shot in Chapala just before that. Didn't know him and don't want to bad mouth the victim, but execution style slaying are targeted, not random. Cartel violence is serious, but it has little effect on our daily lives here on the north shore of Lake Chapala unless you're doing drugs, buying drugs, selling drugs, or starting your own cartel. Cartels actually hate attention. Multiple bodies are messages to the families of people involved in rival cartels. It all makes for a good speech to nervous expats at LCS. True facts don't necessarily get you to a true picture. Daily life here is calm. :)

it is true while you are not involved in the drug business, there is nothing to worry about, the bodies found are from rival groups, and they are a warning to others, they are not corpses of civilians

Loved this one! Did you happen to notice how the cell coverage was there? Do you think if one needed pretty reliable internet for work they could stay there at the RV camp?

Depends on the up/down requirements you have. Cell service would be fine, but cell internet here can be expensive. With the service she said is included in the RV Park, you'd get about 4-5 megs down and maybe 1 meg up. Not great. Dismal by other world standards, but you can stream Netflix, and surf. Email no problem. Skype conferences will work. It takes several hours for me to upload a video at that rate. Its DSL from Telmex. Fibre optic is not becoming available in the area, but probably not at that RV Park. :)

Haha! Our GPS has given us some pretty wild instructions, too! I think it is not so accurate in Mexico as Garmin would have us believe. Turning into El Rosario, it said 300 feet further than it really was.

In 2002 I came down the Mexican coast and it show me about 3 blocks out in the ocean the whole way. Its actually much better now. I can tell with my iPhone and google maps if I'm in my living room or out in the yard. :)

@@JCTravelStories Absolutely! Google Maps is the best way--it's what got us out of Culiacan when we got off track a bit. I'm sorry, but Mexican road signs can be a mite confusing . . . we made a LOT of u-turns! ;-)
