Thanks for the help. I finally reset both my air tags. One piece of advice when doing the factory reset- move your IPhone away from the airtags. Mine would not reset until I moved the phone upstairs

thanks for this! the second method works for me when all of a sudden my airtag disappeared on my find my app. Just had to manual reset like what you did and reconnect it on my device.

I removed the battery like 8 times and it made the special beep but still says it’s connected to an Apple ID. I have already “removed this device” from the old Apple ID and is no longer in the find my app.

en2oh Bro, Sorry, you can't bypass the iCloud lock if you don't have the correct Apple ID which the tag used to pair with.☺️

@@beatnuts323 the iCloud account the AirTag was previously connected to, has to remove the AirTag device from their account. And unless they do that, you can’t claim ownership of the AirTag for your own iCloud account. It won’t let you.

try letting the sound play completely and then wait a second to remove it. if it doesn’t work on the fifth try, do more times. I got it to work that way.

Don’t buy these. Total waste of money. They don’t work. Tried both ways to reset.
