- JD and i spent some time in the woods building a primitive shelter from deadfall tree limbs and whatever else we could find just for fun. Should he go camping in it?

I vote Yes for more random, fun stuff like this.
I 2nd tht.
You're not just building a primitive shelter with your son, you're building memories! The dog running away with the tree limb; priceless!
I grew up without my dad but did the best that I could for my kids so they would never know that experience. You are raising a fine son and setting a great example for him and everyone else. Great video!!!
Me too. Wish I would of had Dad time like JD
Me 3. Mine was there but we was ALWAYS arguing bout something. I often wondered why we never got along. 4yrs after my mom died from cancer, He DISOWNED me and my family. I hve 2 boys and I tought my youngest tht money didn't grow on trees and tht he would hve to work for what he wanted like I did. We DID help him get started like my mom did with me. Now he's got a pretty good job, 2 basic college course diplomas, his own truck at the age of 19. I think we done OK.
Yea it would have been good my dad was around.but when he got off work he would go to the bars in Athens GA with his whores getting drunk then coming home wonting to beat up on me and my mom . But he made a man out of me and when I got big enough he didn't come home wonting to beat up on no. One any more.
I'm a father of 2 "boys" now young adults.
Everyone "ooo it's such. A good memory for the boys" and yes that is correct.
For me those times and memories are absolutely priceless. Make them every chance you get.
you are awesome dad me and my dad did things like this cars and all that stuff I miss him every day but I think about memories when I watch something like this so thank u for stirring up those memories and the one s that jd will remember just I am remembering about my dad things you will never forget
After always seeing JD being the most mature one. It's great to see him out being a kid! Great job on the shelter!
True JD always the voice of reason🤣
2 thumbs up for the bush running across the field
It's not a childhood without building a fort or treehouse in the woods!
Camp in it, if you dare! Your pup definitely needs to be part of the adventure. 😁
JD needs his own channel, kinda like Derek's son has little grip Garage
This my friend is father son time…I love it!!
Oh Hell Yeah boys, Need us a Pole Barn Survival Channel now
The dog taking off with the branches had me cracking up! Thats some good quality father son time!
It's like "castle Byers" on Stranger Things
Good work JD
best times of my life was doing stuff like this with my son.
Man this made my day, reminded me so much of my childhood playing around in the woods with my buddies it’s awesome to get to see you two just having fun and making memories
A day in the life of 2 youtubers. Stuff like that builds memories.
this is fliping awesome keep it up more jd and dad adventures
2:22 When Dalton says that, I cant help but picture a full-size Ford sedan door held to the tree branch posts with self-tapping screws
Brings back childhood memories
I like the idea of you doing more with JD that's awesome 💯😅
This video made my week ! So awesome to see a great father & an awesome son bonding !🤗
Dude I think it's great doing things like this, and showing how you can survive, all you need is a brain and time. When I was young, I had fort's built all over the mountain side where I live. And today some are still there. Dang, that was 35 years ago.
JD, you're way further along than I at your age. Hope the door faces the east and a little south. Storms most always come from north/west.
Also. I hope the wind doesn't flex the trees enough to drop those first wall supports.
Great seeing a Dad and Son doing things making memories Dalton.
More random stuff is good especially with ur family. From one father to another. Happy Father’s Day to you Dalton. Take care and stay safe.
Great to have this as a backup for when you lose the shop
Hell yeah!
Re: more outside the barn: It'd be fun to watch, but only if the recording is part of the fun and doesn't detract from the father/son time.
Can't wait to see what JD does to improve/build to it over the summer!
I would watch more stuff like this
It must be such a joy to be able to do things like this without leaving home. To have that as your back yard is incredible to me.
The TreeKIA. Inspired. That had me literally LOL.
This is great. I never done this with my dad but i have built many of these..great memories. Thanks for the video 👍
Very cool project. Nice old fashion kid project plus truly a life skill. He learned more building that then he did in a year of science. Great job both of you. Dalton you are an awesome dad and jd you have no fear of the challenge and learning. Keep it up
What a great place for a kid to grow up, lot's of things he can learn and experiment with.
Cool looking shelter guys, even your dog is helping! lol 🤣😂🤣 Yeah JD, if you build a fire inside then you’ll have to deal with smoke in your eyes! 🤦🏼 Ole dad is right, fire outside the barn! lol 🤣😂🤣 Thanks for sharing JD and DALTON, say hi to JESS for me! Louisiana sending prayers and positive vibes to yall , stay safe and healthy! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👌🏻👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🙋🏼✌🏻✌🏻
Very cool... now all you need is a car/truck hood for a roof... want to see more please .
Nice to see a kid being a kid.
So refreshing to see a youth of today doing things I grew up doing... building forts, wrenching on old cars and just generally being a kid. Especially since he's doing stuff that doesjt involve a cell phone or a game console. 😁
A man is best measured by the character of his son(s). JD gonna have you brimming with pride (it's ok, you don't have to tell him!)
"We need the tonic of wildness...........We can never have enough of nature." -Henry David Thoreau, Walden - Cheers! 😎👍🌳🌲🌵🍁🍂🍃
One of my favorite books. Just read it again last winter.
[Edit]: BTW, it's a free download at the Gutenberg Project, along with many other 100+ year old books where the copyright expired now.
There was no better way to spend a nice day growing up than with knives, axes, sticks, and limitless possibilities
So glad to see that JD just doesn't sit inside playing videogames. He knows how to work on cars and now he can build shelter if need to next fire with fire starter no matches or lighters 😂😂 but really these are the things he will tell his children good job Dad 🙏🙏👍👍👍
Was wondering if ya lost the shop... house... everything, and had to go primitive!😂
Great father/son time
JD shows up with a load of branches. The neighbors wonder where their favorite trees went.😆
What a lucky kid, got woods to mess around in and cars to play with. Reminds me of spending weekends with my old man when i was a kid in 80s and 90s, getting to do all the stuff my mom wouldnt let me do at her place. The little dude will probably be president someday, being the only member of his generation that can function without a phone in his hand 24/7.
hey maybe don't have that negative of an attitude towards the people of his generation, i know plenty of them who don't even have phones and all they do is work on stuff or farm all day
@@roadsidegarage69I think the optics depend on where you are from. Kids around here are useless. Couldn’t pry those phones out of their hands with cash. Let alone “let’s build something”. Thank god we never had phones as kids. Or at least I didn’t. What an alien thing that would have been.
This is awesome, I wish a parent would have done things like this and the automotive side with me. Love all your content, keep up the awesome work.
you're an awesome dad, this is all stuff any kid wish they could do with their dad
these videos are awesome... JD and Jess are a huge part of the channel.. glad you include them.
Some awesome quality father and son time!!
You should sign him up for baseball, we always had a great time with the kids in baseball and you meet a lot of great people too!!
Always nice to see father and son just enjoying some time in the woods 👍
When I was a kid, all us neighbor hood youngins built a massive shelter in the woods. We'd all sneak beer from the refrigerator at home and stole cigarettes from our parents. We even had nudy magazines up in there😂
This is stuff a son never forgets . Good on both you guys for getting out there and doing it. Nature and cars are a hell of a combo 🤟 fun content as always boys
Feeesh and JD rule!! I have a little girl and you can imagine what she says when I’m like “let’s build a fort”. Keep it up JD!! Being a kid in the woods is an awesome way to grow up. That can be anything. A smoker, a fort, a spot to hide during a paintball game or just a spot for feeesh to dig for rocks. Man I miss doing that stuff with my friends as a kid.
Man, I love random videos like this. Takes me back to my childhood with my grandpa. God i miss those days. Cherish em while u can
I am interested in seeing more random stuff like this. Just letting you know.
Looks like a good fort! I hope you guys keep working on it and camp out there sometime.
I very much enjoy seeing you and J. D. spending time together. My son and I have always spent time together whether working on cars or doing household projects. The only thing that has changed is that he (38) does the work, and I (66) am the helper now... and that suits me just fine!
Waiting on the side of the road in pouring rain while my freind gets here with a jack, this'll work good to keep me entertained 😂
Good luck!
The big question..where is the jack that's supposed to be in the vehicle? Hope the rain quit by the time it arrived
@@gregorybarth930 couldn't get the truck jacked up high enough with it, Chevrolet didn't account for a higher axle with the 2500HD compared to the 1500, and he was headed down the same road anyway
I like the wall idea. Couple of Hobo Freight free tarps and whatever flavor of zip ties are on sale would make it almost weatherproof.
sweet video glad you and JD making great memories , u rock dalton !
Great seeing kids doing this instead of being on an Ipad
Amen!
Keep it coming!! This time on “Outside the Primitive Pole Barn”
you should let jd run this channel for his stuff he wants to do
Yes ! So there is hope after all ! More sons and Dads should be building stuff in the woods these days. I pretty much spent my childhood doing exactly this in the woods behind my neighborhood. Hell yea JD ! I love the homemade off-road car !!!!!
Literally my 2 favorite things to do, cars and camping, you never miss dalton!!!!
its good to see you and your son spending time together not just doing car stuff keep doing what you are doing
I think it's awesome the way you guys get to spend time together. Just from the outside looking in I would say JD is having a better upbringing with his father DALTON then most other kids his age gathering faith, skill,n knowledge
Oh hell yeah! That was awesome! Did this this kind of stuff when I was a kid....woodcraft!
Super cool! I remember building a tree fort when I ws around JD's age. I used an old pallet and some random lumber. My dad was mad I didn't ask if I could use the lumber but he was impressed by my ingenuity and resolve. I used the heck out of that think until a wind storm knocked it out of the tree. I hope JD has as much fun as I did!
Was great to watch ,morelole this would be cool ,long as it yous al watch anytime
Dave from UK
When it gets hotter, a huge slip n slide would be great in that large lawn area.
JD is now a certified bushcraft/primitive shelter master
Fish is a fine specimen and a masterclass in canine intelligence. The superior supervisor.
Great father son project.
I just loved this ❤. JD you are my most favouritist (that’s a real word now) kid in the world, apart from my grandson of course. When you’re older and travel ‘down unda mate’ I hope I meet you one day! Never change 😊
Good to see a kid still playing outside
The dog running away with the big branch and chasing after the branches hanging off the car had me cracking up. 😆 Looked like a fun time with your son.
Carefree and fun videos are always worth watching.
I love random videos. It makes things fun
Chad is doing a great job.I do this stuff on my own. It's really nice to have help keep up the good work
Your son will talk about this for years! Awesome memories made for sure!
Hell yeah I enjoy seeing quality time with you and jd he’s an amazing young man
I had an epic tree hut as a kid, The best thing ever
It's so very awesome to see a farther and son building a shelter in the woods I really enjoy both of your channels
I want to see the wilderness revival. Maybe using bark as a sander for the points or something haha neat shelter!
Father -son time never gets old !!
Looks more like having fun then having to work.. you got an awesome boy Dalton i know you're proud buddy
That was awesome! It’s great to see you and JD hanging out and having quality time together. You only get one go around and that’s making it count!
Dalton, that's awesome! You and JD are a great team!
I don’t know what to do with my hands…..!🙌 lol Cool to see Outside the Garage!
This is a brilliant departure from your usual stuff. Love the cars, the laughs and the no budget fixes. OMG 😱 don't lose the shop!!!! Lol.
But I totally love you and JD doin stuff together.
I love watching you two work together it's truly amazing
I would love to see more of these types of videos. It is so heartwarming watching you and JD doing father son projects. You boys keep up the good work. That shelter will be amazing!
Bushcraftin' with JD n Dalton...love it!
Loved this video, and definitely want more of these! This brought back many fond memories of my childhood, building forts in the woods at my family's summerhouse. Gotta build a carport next do you can fit Jd's Kia go cart next to it, lol
Anything that gets us more content im for!! Would love to see 2 vids a week on the channel, but i totally understand why you can't do that. Especially with the bonus content with subscriptions.
Nice to see some Bushcrafting on the channel, throw a harbor freight tarp over that thing and you got a rain proof shelter
The harbor freight tarp with thrown out trampoline 5000 roof kit works great for those rainy days
I vote 👍! More adventures
One of the few fun times I had with my dad was just him, me, and my fur brother camping all weekend…
This is an awesome video, thank you Dalton and JD
Yes, please🙂
Now those are the good times!!
Random stuff is cool! Glad to see the Kia Cart put to good use.
