This lady.... PERFECT presentation!!! She was not in a rush, explained the camper and options...... this is how videos should be.
I have been looking at the Host Mammoth for 1+ years and I love the design and functionality. It does require a very well equipped & strong truck to handle the weight, so between the truck & camper, it is a substantial investment that many cannot afford nor justify. But wow, the space for such a truck camper due to the 3 slides, but the trade off is when the slides are in, one cannot access the interior.
Not mentioned in the great video is that once must fully extend all of the slides, not partial opening. So stopping at the supermarket, one needs 2 spots to open the slides to put the groceries away, or when stopping for a bathroom break.
Still, I love it.
Try to find a gently used one!!! I just bought a 2020 Eagle Cap 1165 with every option available for $40,000. It was probably $65k new!! The owner was a perfectionist and the camper looks brand new!!
You're going to need a very expensive pickup truck to carry this also look at serious and Northern light truck campers .cirrus truck camper
If I was going to buy a truck camper it'd probably be a host Mammoth with the washer/dryer option. Only problem is you need an $80,000 truck to handle it
😂🤣
You also need another 80k for the camper🤓
You'll need an F450 with airbags... you're looking at $110,000
F550 chassis cab with base with a flat bed is 50k
Find a used 5500 or 550 with a flatbed! WAY WAY under $80K
Has Host addressed all the leaking issues with this model? The frontcap on many of these leak like sieves soaking your mattress and rotting the interior wood framing.
You give the most information on walk thrus.
Very professional and to the point.
Yep I think for me this is the nicest truck camper. Although where you come in the door I'd have an actual recliner though and the other place would be you know the couch or where you would eat. I love love the fireplace / heater under the TV.
What a nice lady so informative and very pro thanks
LOVE FROM DENMARK❤
Beyond the incredible inside, I appreciate the clean access at the bottom around 25:07. Ty!
The price today is about $100,000. They do not hold their value, so you can pick up a used one for a sensible price. This woman is a fabulous sales person. I've no interest at all, but she makes me want to buy one!
Very professional and informative. I will let you know if I am buying one off you soon.
Very excellent video. I feel like I was standing there with her looking at it and looking at everything she was explaining
I love it!
I had to recheck the timestamp on this video, thought I’d been transported back in time to the 1970’s! PJ I appreciate your enthusiasm, but please for the love of god, give this company some honest feedback, it’s 2023!
Nice truck camper
If I trade my truck camper, I'll be heading to Princess Craft.🙂
Pretty impressive
The Yukon with the two theatre chairs is much better in our opinion, make sure if you carry one in stock get it in the Pecan colour trim.
Cool
I noticed there is not a lot of storage. The shelf at the head of the bed is a real head bumper, ouch. Also, the faucets are cheap, please use quality faucets throughout, these campers are extremely expensive, so quantity products should be used throughout.
Storage is a problem for the Host campers. The real storage is in the basement tray. I've had two Bigfoot campers. The last one was a 2500 series 10.6 and it had a massive amount of storage. Even the new Bigfoots and Northern Lite campers do not have the same amount of storage that my 2001 Bigfoot had. We basically took whatever we wanted in the Bigfoot because it had so much storage. In the Host camper, we have had to move most of what we had inside the Bigfoot to the basement storage tray. If you don't get a generator, then the generator compartment becomes more storage.
I really don't want a microwave, but really want an oven, so that would be a non-starter for me.
One can opt for a range with an oven and exclude the microwave. There are many options with Host.
❤❤
Greetings from southern Ontario Canada I really enjoyed the video however I need a fifth wheel trailer have you ever done a video
We haven't done a fifth wheel video... yet! We just started carrying fifth wheel trailers, so hopefully we'll get a video out on one, soon!
They should put the Window next to the Entrance Sofa, by the Door 🚪 and Push the Sofa to the Centre.
So that the Camper can be Accessible when the Slide is in, in the Event of an Emergency...
👩 wow
Nice cop siren edit out 7:33 lol 😅
I haven't seen many truck campers, but I don't think I've ever seen a camper in general with a toilet in a slide out - website says there's a 32 gallon black tank - is it all in the slide?
Urca bella questa
Excelente producto quiero para tener en Colombia porfa
Show a giant later save
As she said…with the slides closed you can’t get inside the camper…deal breaker if family needs to use the bathroom while traveling.
You can't pull into a gas station??? Absolutely no big deal, why make it one?
how does it do in heavy snow or ice or wind storm? do you have pull the slides in?
They are well insulated. You'll need to run the furnace but that's no big deal. I have a 3-slide truck camper too and have been in wind over 50mph with the slides out.
This is something that one can consider for retirement, or if he/she has enough $$$ to retire now -:) Otherwise, it's does not make any sense to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars if the camper is going to sit on your driveway for the most part.
There is no counter space. How is the interior finish? Is the trim the phony plastic veneer? We owned the triple slide 2020 Eagle Cap and the furniture was horribly uncomfortable along with the cheap uncomfortable king size bed mattress. It also had the ridiculous shelf at the head of the bed so every time you sat up in bed you hit your head. The dry shower was so tiny you didn’t dare drop your soap because if you bent over to pick it up you’d smack your head on the sink. Hope this camper, for the huge price has a more refine, quality finish with comfortable furniture and a quality comfortable mattress.
For a truck camper I believe it has a great amount of counter space, especially with the flip up counter as well as the dining table. The finishes are rather nice, especially when you see them in person.
Coming in at just under $100,000 plus another $75,000 for a truck to haul it. What a deal!
😂😂😂😂😂
I already own the truck. If you bought a Class C with the same level of components and build quality, it would be $175K - 250K. Look at the Dynamax Isata 5 as an example.
Yes, it is a financial investment, but wow! Love this rig
Makes stealth camping difficult
Nice camper, But the thermostat unit is "analog"?👎🏻 No Digital in 2023... The A/C unit is Soft start? can run on Solar?
Yes. A/C is soft start. Have put this same unit in my Lance truck camper replacing the Coleman Mach. What a difference! SO much quieter! On max cool and high fan it pulls 1000 watts. Fantastic unit. I live in South Florida in my camper full time. On a 97 degree (this week) day I can hold about 72 degrees inside. My unit is also a heat pump so in the winter I use it instead of the propane furnace. Will keep you warm down to about 35 outside. And it comes with a wireless remote.
Yes, I found the analog thermostat a step backward. I imagine one could upgrade it.
AC can run on battery IF you have an inverter that is rated high enough. Probably 3000w inverter needed.
I am from Saudi and I have a Ford F-350. I would like to get this campar, but I have a problem with the air conditioning and I want to install a 2-ton cassette. Is there a roof that can support the weight of a 2-ton air conditioner?
Are you serious 😂
With I owned a Semi to pack this behemoth legally.
Por favor colocar subtítulos en es pañol u opciones de idiomas.
Muchas gracias por su atención y colaboración.
Somos interesados y seguidores de Colombia.
👍🙏
We'll try to learn how to do that. Thanks for watching!
With all the “tons” of storage it will be overloaded quickly.
How so?
Not if you have a 5500 level truck!!! If you carry it on a 3500 you're overloaded with that thing empty!!
Por favor me puede decir si una camioneta Ford Raptor tiene capacidad para transportar está truk?
Muchas gracias por su atención y colaboración. 👍🙏
The Ford Raptor cannot and should not attempt to carry a camper this large and this heavy.
Creo Que no; I don’t believe so. Por el minima, se necessitating un 1 ton (F350, 3500) aunque sería mejor con el F450/4500 o F550/5500. At the minimum one needs a 1 ton truck (F350, 3500) although it would be better with a F450/4500 or F550/5500. Creo el Raptor is un F150.
@ 11:16 Uhhh, just a minute. A luxury truck camper like this should come with a full oven AND the Microwave. When you're paying this kind of money, I'm uncomfortable being told what I need and don't need. I think it's the customer's prerogative to tell the seller what they need or want, and not the other way around, thank you.
Then don't buy one, it's that simple.
@@buckhorncortez Actually, I don't need you to point out the incredibly obvious !
@@markjob6354 Oh...so you simply like to complain in public...got it...
@@buckhorncortez Yeah that must be it. Stupid comment, but that's all you can make, as I'm confident in stating you don't have any argument, therefore you attack the person with an opposing point of view. Good Job ! 👍 Classic stupidity ! Keep up the good work, Sir !
A range & oven IS an option, she didn’t mention it but one can spec it that way.
1 ton dually maybe larger… yeah muuuuch larger 5500 or 550 at minimum.
Speaking about the hole CHAPTER about camper but NOT MSRP OR COST OF THE HOLE ENTIRE PRICE WHY???
The "hole"? A hole is an opening or hollow place on a solid surface.
Hole or whole?
Nice truck camper but lacks of a patio.
What truck camper has a patio?
@@JHA6100 paminmio 2912
$102,448? For that? You must be joking!!!
Lame. You can get a 40' 5th wheel for 1/2 the price that won't break the back of your truck!
Fuyt
The reality is that you will have many issues with any type of vehicle to carry this and for sure safety will be at risk.
Awesome camper, but the toilet isnt gna work for me. Im supposed to poop in front of my lady?!?! Lol
You can't figure out how to close a door??
Wow can u imagine begin stuck in a camper with this kind of woman. I would be so so dry and boring. Why even go camping.. she would want to stay in the whole time
I love it when they portray these campers all lowered to the ground. This is NOTHING like what they are actually in height when mounted on ANY truck. So those steps? Won't work when on a real truck, you're going to need more steps. Host like all other manufacturers are still using cheap components, even if this video without a first-hand look you can see them. Components are not the real costs in manufacturing, but labor is. Why not install top-quality parts instead? EVERY camper I've owned has required repair, but camper supply store stock JUNK because that's exactly what these campers are built with. It's ridiculous. Cheaply made components that simply won't last. Where are the quality camper manufacturers? Even the "top rated" by consumers and reviewers don't use the best components, so this problem is ubiquitous.
I have a slide in camper like this (Eagle Cap 1165) on an International CV515 and I can step from the ground onto the bottom step. It is a BIG step but I am only 5'9" and i can do it! Torklift makes a set of stairs that replace the stock ones and extend MUCH lower if you need to make that change. No big deal at all.
