- Reacher Season 2 has just started filming, and actor Alan Ritchson is even bigger this time around - which is impressive given his huge size in season one.
In a recent Instagram post, Alan Ritchson shared a photo of himself looking absolutely huge with the caption "just broke 240 lbs". For Reacher season one, Alan gained 30 lbs for the role going from 205 to 235 lbs. This means he as AT LEAST 5 lbs heavier for season 2.
Talking about his training, Alan favours short, high intensity, high volume workouts with a focus on growth, but also longevity and injury avoidance.

Some of those dudes, had to have their cell doors specially reinforced, because these dudes had the superhuman strength kick the doors open. Even dudes that were not quite as big, could tear out of the handcuffs

@@TimothyRisby "Steroid" is basically just an umbrella term for anabolic substances. More often than not TRT clinics use many of the exact same drugs that "steroid users" in gyms use. If you go to your doctor and get a prescription for 100mg testosterone enanthate per week, there's a decent chance that's one of the drugs the huge bro at your local gym is also using. He's just taking 600mg a week instead of 100mg.
The main reason TRT has an image problem now is that a lot of these actors and celebrities who use it are getting it from sketchy clinics and "Hollywood" doctors who will prescribe them a dose that is illegitimately high for medical purposes. Like if you're an actor with connections, you can probably find a doctor who will prescribe you 300mg test per week on a TRT protocol, and then when you say you're on TRT you're _technically_ telling the truth lol. But it's not normal TRT at that point, that would be considered steroid abuse in any other circumstance.

He’s always had a top percentile physique since his first big role in blue mountain state and that came out when I was in high school and I graduated in ‘11 Meaning he’s been jacked for about years 15 straight. If I had to guess I’d say he blasts and cruises which is very unhealthy, or (what I think is the most likely) ran cycles when he was younger and now has just been on TRT ever since but has top tier genetics and muscle memory and has maintained while improving all these years. It’s possible he is natural but unlikely and the reason why my money is on former cycle use and current TRT is because your body can’t sustain constant blasting and cruising for 15 years straight.

Why does everyone jump to that... I was my peak 19 years old 257lbs 11% bodyfat. Now I'm 36 and 268lbs not a single steroid. When I was 17 I was 5ft 5 137lbs by 19 I put on 120lbs and 6ft. I ate 10-12 meals a day aiming for 1000kcal a meal. Still not a single steroid. My friends have done it and I've got some nice skin and full head of hair and beard and not a single grey hair. My picture kinda says it. But one of my best features and organ is my skin. Shows I've never absued anything in my life. Just saying

nope, pay attention guys. Most guys at the gym go for higher weights, resulting in low reps and sitting on their ass for 3-5 min between sets surfing on their phone. The real hypertrophy comes from "high volume workouts", tons of reps to failure, circuit training to minimize downtime and pounding out the reps---drop the weight by 10-15% of one-rep max but then pounding out the reps.
for example, benching three sets at 8-10 reps at 200lbs is 5400lbs total work. four sets at 25 reps at 170 lbs is 17,000 lbs benched. Do the math---high-volume workouts is the key.
My workouts are 15-30 minutes, and it's funny all these big guys that can't push or lift as much as I can, and i'm noticeably smaller. Pay attention to what he is saying, that's the key to having efficient effective workouts that give results.

I did. But it was a fuck of a lot slower than this. If he stopped training between seasons, muscle memory can kick in and rebuild everything he lost when he stopped training pretty quickly. I like the guy so I don’t want to just assume he isn’t natural, but 90% of the guys who are able to do this, especially over the age of 25 are absolutely not natural. I love all the trash talking on this guy's physique. He made Reacher an amazing show with his performance and with or without roids has to put the time in at the gym to get those type of results.

Lee Child hasn't got a clue about guns or anatomy or weight training or any of the other details described in his books (particularly the early ones). He just threw some big numbers on the page. The fact he's described as a certain weight, that his pecs help stop a bullet getting to his heart or any of the other ludicrous stuff in the books, is just hyperbole. Not once in the books is it hinted that he spends two hours a day in the gym, carefully controlling his diet and juicing up with steroids every day - which is what would be required to maintain this sort of bulk on the reg. Indeed his drifter lifestyle simply wouldn't allow it. He's a 100 press-ups, 100 sit-ups, 50pullups a day kind of guy, just with a huge frame.

@@Raul-wd1jb could care less about Kane or the punisher..the reacher character dwarfs those other 2 in popularity and depth..cruise is fine for the MI series, but he comes up whoefully “short” as Reacher, who in the novels is a larger than life character..you can at least believe that this guy can take on 4-5 guys in a brawl, does anyone actually believe that cruise can??
