ha, only 2-3 seconds before the pause. Well that set the tone for this reaction so that's where I stopped watching. Geez...just listen and enjoy the bleeping music, or dont bother. You can't call it a reaction when there's been literally 2 seconds of 'intro' of a song. Meh, this was such a somewhat promising reaction channel imo, but nope, not gonna watch yet another person in love with their own voice, ruining perfectly fine music for their own vanity.
Oh, how wrong you judged. By stopping at the beginning you missed one of the most joyful reactions I've seen to this song. She is a joy to watch as her reactions are so real and she talks just enough but not too much like some reactors do. But haters hate and enjoy their hate more than anything else, what can you do 🤷♂.
I recommend you watch the original clips and don't bother other people's fucking asses. ciao

The guitarist Emppu is a notorious prankster. At the beginning of the song you see him conspiring with Troy (who is seated with his pipes) about a prank he is going to pull on Floor. At about half way through the song Emppu runs behind Floor and turns off her in-ear battery pack that she has on her back hip and the camera cuts to Troy who is laughing. Emppu tries to do it again but Floor catches on and turns around to foil Emppu's plan
The Argentinian live version is even better.

There's a barely-noticeable moment @7:00 where Emppu sneaks behind Floor and turns of her in-ear transmitter (it's a small box attached to her back.) She turns it back on without missing a beat, and you can see she's not about to let him sneak past a second time. (She looks back at Troy, who was obviously in on it.)
Says a lot about the band that in the middle of the concert of their lives, in front of 82,000, they're goofing around and having fun. You have to love artists who take their art seriously, instead of themselves.

I have some info on Floor Jansen for you here.
She is married to Hannes Van Dahl, drummer of the Swedish power metal band Sabaton. Together they have 2 daughters (Freja & Lucy)
Floor Jansen is a soprano, with a range of more than 3 octaves (C3 to F6). Re-singing style ranges from opera to screams and grunts. She usually sings in English, in addition she has also sung songs in Dutch, German, Spanish, Finnish, Latin, Italian and Swedish.
Jansen was the singer of the Dutch metal band After Forever from 1997 to early 2009. From 1999 she studied at the Rockacademie in Tilburg with classmates Jacqueline Govaert and Danny Vera, where she graduated in 2003. In addition to her activities at After Forever, she cool singing lessons. She plays guitar, piano and flute. On May 5, 2010, she presented her new band ReVamp, which was disbanded in September 2016.
From 1 October 2012 Jansen replaced Anette Olzon as singer of Nightwish during the Imaginaerum World Tour. On October 9, 2013, it was announced that she would be the group's regular new front singer. In 2015, Nightwish released the album Endless Forms Most Beautiful with Jansen as lead singer. Nightwish's second studio album with Jansen as front singer, Human. :II: Nature., was released in April 2020.

At 7:02 in your video, Empu pranks Floor by switching of her monitor that she wears on her back, and you see her switching it on again. Empu and Troy were apparently conspiring to do this in the beginning of the video. When Empu passes Floor again, you see her reacting to him.
This does tell you something about the joy they have on stage together.

There is rumor that Floor changed Emppu's beer on stage to applejuice at some show (he hates it) 😂
As a fun side note... early in the song you can see Emppu and Troy (on the Irish bagpipes) conspiring to pull a trick on Floor. Much later Emppu runs behind Floor and pulls out the connection to her In-Ear Monitors. You can see her reach behind her to plug them back in. She recovers quickly. But near the end of the song you can see when Emppu runs back behind her again, she faces him and and stares him down as he is passing by. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me. FUN

I saw them in Minneapolis a couple years ago when they came to the U.S. and even though it was a small venue and not a big stadium or festival, it was still one of the best concerts I have ever seen.
I say it often. Come for the music, stay for the lyrics. I am sure someone will tell you about Emppu's(Band class clown) trick on Floor and her keeping an eye on him when he returns back to the right side of the stage.

My Nightwish experience was Los Angeles, CA in May of 2022 . Prior to the start we were all walking around the lobby in some sort of fever dream. Almost to a person everyone was there after discovering them on CZcams. Hearing them LIVE in a smallish venue is completely different than online here. It is significantly more intense. If you like theme here, you deserve to seek them out when/if they tour again.
This song is an absolute blast when your actually at the show .

UK Army popping in to get our tears back x. I was at Wacken, Tampere and Wembley plus others.
Both Emmpu and Floor are pranksters - and here Emmpu unplug Floor's earpieces.
Floor later takes revenge by switching his beer with applejuice - his face when he drinks it....
They are all having a ball - on the later concerts, you can see how they enjoy each other, sharing red wine, dancing or singing together. It is also incredible how they gives each other time in the spotlight.
They are unique.
If you really want a thrill, you need to hear this song from the Buenos Aires Concert!! You will really love it!!!

There is A Lot happening in this performance... So, in the Wacken version, Emppu (band jokester) is telling Troy at the beginning of his plan to pull a stage prank on Floor. Later as he passes behind her, he unplugs her in ears. You see her reaching behind herself to fix it. As he comes back across, Floor stares him down so he can't do it again.
There are some fan-cam views with better angles, but even on this you can see Emppu telling Troy, and Tuomas looking across with a "what are those two up to" look on his face.
And now The secret Nightwish Weapon Troy:
Troy is playing the Uilleann (ill-en or ill-yen) pipes. The Irish version of the bagpipes which uses a bellows squeezed by the elbow to inflate the bag. Uilleann is the Gaelic word for elbow.
Song:
The song is a longing to feel emotions as one did when they were young. As we get older, the intensity of those emotions can wane or disappear altogether. And was written for Nightwish's second singer Anette, but of course, Floor Crushed it !!!! As for the theme, well, it is part of the Imaginaerium album after all, so childhood memories are a part of it.
The only better version I know is in 2018 in Buenos Aires, which although it is a smaller crowd, being indoors, is remarkable for the super enthusiastic audience participation.

I regret very much that I was not at this concert, but I attended 4 other concerts by Nightwish and 2 soloconcerts by Floor. And they always bring it!!!!
@redheadedneighbor: Finally -- you got to see Troy Donockley, Nightwish's British multi-instrumentalist. He mainly plays the Uaelliann pipes (pronounced "ill•in"; In Gaelic, means "elbow," as the bag is not filled by blowing into them, but are filled by bellows pumped with the arm). The Uaellian pipes are not just Ireland's national instrument, but they much more mellower and sweeter-sounding than its louder cousin, the Scottish bagpipes. As Troy says in the Nightwish documentary, "You have to a bit mad, just a bit, to play them."
That being said, I highly recommend reacting to Last of the Wilds to see Troy play three instruments in one song: Low flute, tin whistle, and his pipes. Troy also plays E-bow, basically an electric guitar with a violin bow, in the Wembley 2016 performance of The Greatest Show On Earth. He also plays the mandolin in the 2016 performance of Seven Days to the Wolves.
Lastly, thanks for reacting to this song! Not only was it St. Patrick's Day this past Sunday, but I have always thought of I Want My Tears Back as being an old Irish pub song or beer-drinking song.

I like the Bloodstock 2018 I Want My Tears Back performance also. Floor is so pretty in her black and with white polka dots dress and she does a lot more dancing and jumping around. Check that out on your own time, no reaction needed.

Great reaction! Now you need to checkout the 2018 Buenos Aries version, if only for yourself. Even more energy from the crazy Argentinian fans and even more dancing by Floor! One of the things I love about this performance is Emppu conspiring with Troy to prank Floor. At about the 7 minute mark of your video you see Emppu pass behind Floor and then the next shot is of Floor reaching for her in ear pack on her hip. It appears Emppu messed with her in ears. You the see her look back at Troy just shacks his head as if to say, that's Emppu. Then at the 7:30 mark while Marko is singing, Emppu crasses back behind Floor but she is taking any chances and stares him down while towering over him. It is such a great shot and shows the love and playfulness of the two of them. Song is from the Imaginaerum album whose songs are written fro mthe perspective of an aging composer reflecting on his life. In this song he is remembering how more deeply his emotions were felt in his youth. With age comes wisdom and experience and we feel things less intensely. In this case the narrator "wants my tears back" a very poetic way for Tuomas to express that desire for youth and passion, both happy and sad.
The South American live one is the best version of this ... sooo much energy.

The song is part of the concept album / film music Imaginaerum. The main character suffers from depression due to trauma. He cannot let go of his negative past and wants to be free of his depression (27:45).
Songs like this are the reason why Tuomas founded the band Auri with his wife and Troy. Despite two albums, the band hasn't played live yet. Stylistically, the band is not so happy, more melancholic and progressive folk:

I'd definitely watch it with you again. It's energizing and engaging. it's hard to not stand up and want to dance with Floor. Also when you watch it again, watch Empu when he walks behind Floor then watch Floor when he walks the other direction. as a gag, he disconnected her 'audio' which is on her back. also i'm pretty sure you mentioned you're on a farm/ranch? we need videos of that too. as a guy from a ranching family, it's cool to see other people's experiences 'on the farm'.

Can you imagine being at that concert.,the energy, the sound, the pyro , the whole deal. They aren't just musicians they are an experience. At this time , Floor was not an official member of the band. Until after thw Wacken show. She had to learn all these songs in a few months as a fill in singer.

@@redheadedneighbor Actually, she had to learn the songs in 48 hours, 10 months earlier. Anette was replaced mid tour, and Floor got the call from Tuomas while she was at her sisters wedding in The Netherlands. She spent time on the flight over to Seattle, with earbuds, listening to the songs,singing while traveling (imagine sitting near her on that flight!). Long story,short, she took the stage and 10 months later was the Wacken concert. There is a documentary called "Please Learn the Setlist in 48 Hours". It is 2 hours long, but it shows the band members during some of that time. It is very informative and very funny too. If you're gonna be a NW fan, it is a must see. Don't know if I would do a reaction to it. A lot is spoken in Finnish, but more in English. It is CC translated, so it is very understandable.
She had to learn those songs in 48 hours on a plane to the Seattle. There is a 2 hour documentary here, little tough to watch, because it's in Finnish with English subs, but well worth it, having an insight into the band's life on the road.

They are a very special band. Their on-stage chemistry is amazing. The joy they get from what they do just shines through in their performances, and it is infectious. They know how to reach deep inside you and lift you up. Magic stuff.
