    Soooo that’s why there is only two rows of lights. It has to leave one path for return. I was always sooo baffled how these were wired. It never made sense to me how it got a power and ground return on one wire. I didn’t know the led hooked between two different legs I thought each led was on one wire. Subbed!!!!!

      Yes getting a 3rd row can be done but you’d have to make the chip larger to accommodate a via and the extra traces. Wouldn’t be worth it IMO. Thanks for watching and I really appreciate the sub!

    Please do more of these walk-through tutorials! These are amazing and a good teacher to learn stuff like this ;)

      Appreciate the kind word bro. I love doing tutorials. I’ll do more as I work through the design process of these and other components. I’ve got to test some LEDs and then get into the calculations for choosing resistors. Then comes the SMD work and final tests.

    Thanks for this video! :) A nice low level entry into the world of pcb design!

      Btw; Did the pcb's come in yet! want to find out what LED's to get :D

      Yes they did, finally! I need to get on this video soon. I need to find those LEDs now, it's been awhile since I've last seen them.

      ZenoErwt Id imagine it will take 2-3 weeks to get at it. I’ll try and get a good LED test video out before that if at all possible. Have a large repair video coming up.

    Isn't 1oz too low for a 2layer racewire? I'm not an expert, but with 6s lipo, i can have 30a max per esc, so, i think 10a per motor wire

      This entire thing is a bit of a test for the LEDs I have. Your right, these will not handle 6s voltages. I’ll have to test them on 4s but even then I’m not sure they’d handle it. Once I figure out the best LED for these I’ll have to rework the surface mounts then order some higher weight copper.

    How to make that calculations which resistor to use?

    • @breaksteel
      @breaksteel  Před 3 lety +1

      I’m terrible with math so I just use a online calculator. This one is pretty good ledcalculator.net

      @@breaksteel didn't helped much because it's AC phase that we using there but , 470 ohms are good for 3v 20ma leds ,

      Doesn’t matter if it on AC or DC. A Diode only flows in one direction. (LED = light emitting diode)
