    Oh! Take the bulkhead out, twice as much room and light. Ours is a simple van too, no 2nd battery needed, no solar, no problems...but we don't have a heater which takes power. Instead have a duck and down duvet...and hats.....oh and we live in Portugal.
    Different, thanks for sharing..Vivaro is better than VW Transporter.

    • @vanvistas

      @@vanvistas I could teach you a few Karate moves if that would help convince him. I am retired and pay here is very low, but cheap to live in central Portugal where we are. Poor people are much nicer and they dont seem to suffer...like the old days in the Uk. Anyway beat him up and remove the bulkhead, you can always put it back...but you wont.

    • @vanvistas
      @vanvistas  Před 2 lety +3

      That’s so exciting! It’s a second hand double futon bed. It’s quite difficult to explain without showing you. If you’re on Instagram, have a look at @rhydian_eldridge and there’s lots of pictures that might give you a better idea 😊

  • @Radio4ManLeics
    @Radio4ManLeics Před 2 lety +1

    /Nice layout, and the cheap futon idea is genius when you think a RIB bed is £3,000 now! But you do need to sort out that ventilation. All that condensation isn't healthy. It needn't cost a lot to insulate, line & vent. I really liked the way you can service the kitchen unit via the second sliding door.
    What was on the ceiling? Was it a duvet

    • @vanvistas
      @vanvistas  Před 2 lety +1

      It’s just a wall hanging on the ceiling. We’re not really in it long term enough to rip it all out to insulate, especially now we have a diesel heater. We do however have window wind deflectors and one of those dog safety locks for the tail gate, where you can have it open slightly but still locked. So I’m the day we’ll just have the doors open a bit and at night we can still have a bit of airflow with the safety lock

    Fantastic and functional conversion! Would you please share more details about the foot pump, the faucet and the sink?

    • @vanvistas
      @vanvistas  Před 2 lety

      Hey! Sure! The foot pump is a whale pump and the sink is just a mini sink from Amazon. The tap is just some 10mm copper pipe bent into shape. Then there’s a fresh water and waste water container underneath, so the sink drains into the waste bottle and some hose runs between the fresh water, pump and tap

    Hi can you tell me what you used on the ceiling of the van thanks,love the video,xx

    • @vanvistas
      @vanvistas  Před 2 lety +1

      @Radio4ManLeics Před 2 lety

      As a concept it's great. But the execution looks a bit complicated with all those bits of matrress moving about.. Futon matresses are usually very comfortable, and the bottom end folds up to make a double thickness seat cushion.
      A full double futon is £150-£200, whereas a RIB seat bed is £3,000 now.
