The murderous stare from Pete.
My guy doin' the Kubrick Stare
I had the same reaction ngl
Pete channeling his inner Angry Miz girl.
We are Pete.
I mean i always love Pete but he was acting like a petulant child by the end of last nights stream
Pete just sitting there speechless for almost a solid 4 minutes đđ
I reacted the same exact way.
I have neverâŠ. Ever seen Pete that pissed off since his debut on the channel. I totally get it and understand his frustration because there are millions of us out there that watched the show last night that reacted the exact same way, such a shame to have the rug pulled from under everything
I cant wait for the boring chants on Romans ass again
Cody shouldn't have won. Too early. mfs just wanna see roman lose and it's dumb.

Pete looking pissed and not moving for a few minutes after the finish summed up the whole situation perfectly.
The worst part of this booking is the fact Cody did 2 cross Rhodes and Roman still had the energy to run around the ring and hit a spear.
Yeah absolutely, "oh my opponent got hit, i guess I'm fine now!"
Everyone knows he has to hit 3 during big matches to win tho
I completely agree with Pete. They had a great ending to the story with Sami, they decided not to do that. Okay so they planned to put it on Cody, that was fine. But now they didn't even do that. So now what? He's beaten every person on the roster that could be seen as a legitimate challenge to him. Are they trying to get Roman to start getting Go Away Heat again, because I truthfully can't see them being far from that now?
GUNTHER WM 40
There's more to this story, had my doubts cos no one's story is coming to an end, next chapter begins and I'm on board for the ride!
â@@thedoobieshrew0244 nah shits lame tbh. It's getting old bro
No I can't agree with go away heat. Go away heat comes from poor storytelling combined with ridiculous wins. Roman seems to never have an unconvincing moment. He will not get go away heat unless the fans grow tired with boredom. WWE needs new achievements. All the records are about old stars. They need to create a modern legend...and Roman is that modern legend.
â@@tygeworldwide348my guy, people are not going to be on board for another YEAR of the same storyline to get Walter over at the next mania
I thought Sami losing at Montreal was bad. Cody losing at Mania felt freaking horrible. I was enjoying the entire show but this ending left a sour taste in my mouth.
Pit of despair baby, wooooooâŠ.Cody shoulda won man.
sami losing was bad imo due to the fact that the story was simply perfect and he wasn;t gonna get any hotter than that. cody had nowhere near that good a story, and he absolutely can win it later on. if they chose not to do it with sami then I think they should go all the way with getting the reign over 1000 days
The thing is though, is that Sami shouldnât have won in Montreal. That would have been a monumentally bad decision to have your top heel losing before Mania
Cryyyy
@@theambiguousdirector5170 Having your top heel beating both of your last remaining top faces during Wrestlemania season and then disappearing for months is infinitely worse.
Pete putting his head on the table was the same reaction I had.
I also agree with him that I felt they had the stars aligned. Even if they build it up again and add another good chapter, this just felt like a big miss and it was in the main event for your biggest show. Iâll still be happy if Cody or someone else gets it down the line, of course, but this felt like it was it.
5:34 The realest raw emotion after over 4 minutes of silence.
It felt like it shouldâve been itâŠ.but 1000 days as champâŠ.*visibly speechless*.
Yeah, the biggest thing about this ending was that it made me - a customer - feel like an absolute fool for getting invested in WWEâs characters and wrestlers, only to watch them month after month get sacrificed to Roman...and for what?
I cancelled my subscription to the network and bowing out. This just isnât for me anymorr

The biggest danger to "what if this is just building to a BIGGER payoff?" idea is that it just takes one injury to make this ENTIRE endeavor worthless. They had a golden opportunity here and they should have taken it
i agree with this take very much, the risk of pro wrestling storylines is not being able to perform the physical aspect of it, and on the unfortunate off-chance that either Cody or Roman get injured before the story ends, we're just going to have this what-if scenario forever.
Even if they are trying to build to a " Bigger payoff " for Cody it doesn't matter forever record shows he lost at Mania to Roman. Forever when he was red hot and everyone was waiting for him to finish the story he failed. Forever in his first WWE title match he lost. Forever in the "Biggest Match of his career" record will show he lost. They can never erase that. He will be remembered as another static in Roman title reign.
Cody right now is not the guy Iâm sorry but what has his struggle been since the rumble what fighting solo? He came in at number 30 which basically confirmed he was winning okay but since then whatâs his struggle been? Theyâve had great promos but it was overcoming Solo and thatâs it. I get injuries could happen though they should of had Sami won imo
â@Aarron West reminds me of Starrcade 97 in amounts of fucked upery
@@drewellis95 what was point of Cody even returning to WWE then? Why have the story of Win the belt for Dusty if he not gonna win the Belt? The struggle was his entire career. Everything he ever been through to make it back to WWE and get the belt. That was Cody story. But now it pointless. Sami at least got the tag titles. Cody gains nothing and no matter where they go from here cant get this moment back.
What's really sad is that WWE probably feels like they're so clever for this "Hahaha swerved the marks they didn't see it coming hahaha" when in reality it's like, yeah thanks for not giving the fans what they want. Again. For the 100,000 time.
what swerve? we always gave roman a chance because 'this company' but this doesn't change the fact that the other one was the best and the perfect decision to all of it. And apparently the fact that 'this company' hasn't been 'that company' in the last months, or the fact that it's back like that or they merged with the other company i don't care.... it doesn't change anything
Vince is back in gorilla! What did yâall honestly think was gonna happen! Roman/ bloodline gives the WWE a license to print money why would they stop now? Plus Cody smashed HHH throne back in the day yall really thought he forgot about that!đđ
Exactly! Iâm so sick of this idea that surprising people is above all else. Well told stories with satisfying conclusions is a lot more desirable then having what we want teased and then taken away time and time again.
People need to stop watching.
its a good thing they dont listen to yall đđ
Pete's 4 minute silence followed by what EVERYBODY was thinking at that time (and still thinking).........PRICELESS!!
Seeing Pete going from an excited fan who loved every minute of the storyline from the very start and being super happy with the company.....to a Broken man who's enthusiasm was sucked out within seconds and just express his dissapointment with the company...is one of the most gut wrenching things I have seen on the Wrestletalk channel.
I was the exact same...I was shocked and said nothing for about 5 minutes straight and than just...did not know how to feel. What an absolute dogs*** of an ending.

The second Cody lost, I got off Peacock and just stared like Pete did. I also shared the same sentiment as him. Pete is totally correct in his statement and I also am gonna miss Raw. Let me know when Roman loses.
Alright so Iâve had some time to cool off. I will still pop when Cody (I hope) eventually wins the championship. However Iâm still gonna have a hard time investing in Roman feuds. This was the best time, but I hope to God that they top this storytelling.
I cancelled peacock. No point in keeping it now with the sale going through and PPVs going back to $60-70 following UFCâs model on ESPN+.
â@@xxtacomanxx3151 I have been called crazy, but, what if long term storytelling says Jey wins the title? They need to move on at some point, though.

I keep seeing fans defending Roman winning. Saying that Codyâs redemption at Summerslam will be worth it. I donât think it will. Itâs so predictable now that Cody will win the rematch and theyâre going to drag out the story for 5 more months. They couldâve ended it here
Heâs not even winning there heâs probably facing Cena at Summerslam ⊠Roman is going to Defend against Gunther at Wrestlemania 40 if not Seth but I think Gunther is going to win the Royal Rumble next year

Night 1. Give the fans want they want...night 2 take it all away
Honestly it's a great give and take. It would be bad if it was predictable. WWE is special since it makes us feel both the highest of highs, and also the lowest of lows.
I've never even seen Pete angry and I completely agree with his response. It's not like watching a movie where you watch for 3 hours max and then it isn't what you want. This is something that's been unfolding for the better part of a year, countless hours of segments and story all written for Cody to win. This to me felt like a swerve just for the sake of a swerve. If Cody was fighting for this at least years mania or maybe even summerslam if he hadn't gotten injured I could understand people saying it's obvious Roman would retain and WWE would stick it to the AEW guy... however... this was a massive build with sacrifices of guys like Drew and Sami in their hometowns, not to mention how many people Roman has beaten along the way who were massive stars like Cena or Lesnar. People wanted this so badly because he was the only person left Roman hasn't beaten and they squandered it. I don't care if Seth beats him, Sami, Jey, or even sadly now Cody. Whoever wins it isn't gonna get out of it what Cody could have here and I think years from now we will look back on this as not the worst main event ever or anything but perhaps the worst booking decision in Wrestlemania history.
Completely agreed with Pete here, it's getting so old and it's so hard to get any investment when they build someone as Roman just beats them when it counts.
Pete and I share the exact same thoughts and sentiments. Dang it. Night 2 hurt so bad.
Night 1's main event made my dad and I go for a big hug in unison even though we're on a bit rocky ground right now. Night 2's main event just left us both completely dumbfounded. Sami and Cody getting back to back sacrificed to Roman when they were so hot as organic babyfaces is just inept. The Sami and Cody matches left white hot audiences just... flat which is worse than basically any other reaction.
Just tells us we shouldn't care
You and your dad still good?

They had lightening in a bottle with Cody, and they squandered it. He may win the belt later, but it wonât be the same. This shouldâve been Codyâs night. I hated that he left AEW, & I hate it even more now.
I understand Pete's sentiments. I feel exactly the same as Pete. WWE is now all about numbers. First they screwed Sami in Montreal now Cody at WrestleMania đ
Folks this is why you don't put both of your world titles on 1 dude especially when the reason they are extending this is because of only 1 of the championships
Blame the fans they wanted one world title
Pete sitting stunlocked for a solid 4 minutes and 38 seconds is an all-time Wrestletalk moment
I stopped watching wrestling for about 5-6 years after Punk left. I never thought I would be back, and then the bloodline storyline brought me in, and Cody kept me hanging. But after this mania, I won't know anymoređ¶.
I literally fell to the floor when referee counted to three. I was in complete disbelief
wwe is doomed
I'm a big Roman fan, and I just cant help but feel this was such a big misstep. I didn't have a problem with Sami losing in Montreal. No way Roman's streak was ending at the last PPV before Mania, and I never thought the point of Sami's story was to dethrone Roman. But this was a logical conclusion point. This is way more than "Cody showed up last year and is now a contender." This story was "this guy was a midcarder for 9 years and we didnt think he was a main eventer, then he left us and proved to the world that he is a big deal and now he's back here to finish the job."
The only thing I can think of is they're keeping the belt on Roman for a Rock match. I dont care to see Rock wrestle again, but it'll draw eyes, so I get that. But that match doesn't need a belt. The match itself is all the attraction it needs. Quite frankly, if that match is for the belts, there's no way Roman is losing because The Rock won't be sticking around. And if Rock were to win for some reason, that just sends a message of "the only person that can dethrone the most dominant champion of a generation is a guy from 20 years ago that doesnt wrestle anymore so why bother watching these guys here every week?"
this
It really does leave the question of who? Maybe they should have held off on Cody and put someone else, so it could be someone else taking this fall, don't know how you're going to build up anyone else like who, a returning AJ Styles, he didn't even finish his feud with Judgment Day, so they settled back on Edge. So who?
This was literally my house last night. I'm Pete. I'm 150% Pete in this moment. Owen was my roomie trying to explain everything and i'm here just silent...seething....just feeling "This is fuckin DUMP" and the silence...i think every wrestling house went silent too
I also hate what this story feels like it's going to shift to, which is a narrative of Cody not being strong enough because he came from AEW and the outside wrestling world. There was no logical reason why Roman should have won, and to do this sets up a myriad of not "What if's" but "Why's"
The worst part about this is that you have the people that say this is good because it makes the show unpredictable or thereâs a bigger payoff. If itâs Cody thatâs gonna dethrone him, it wouldâve been the absolute best to send the fans home happy and let Cody win. They have built this up too much, and Roman has already been legitimized, if they screw this up or they just use an established star to beat them, itâs gonna be terrible.
Pete's reaction starting from the ref's 3 count to the very end was/is literally EVERYONE'S reaction that was on Cody's side.
Man I was pissed at the ending. With drew back at the clash at the castle, and this tops that
This is a huge misstep.
Feels very nWo, very greedy, very "This is a good thing, let's just keep it going forever."
I think WWE are really risking the scales just falling from people's eyes regarding this era of the booking and them just tuning out in droves, saying:
"Well, why did I watch any of this then?"
I *won't* be tuning into Raw, because why risk wasting my time again? I'll just keep up to date with the news to find out if they rescue this.
I said the exact same thing I am done with wwe until roman finally drop the title triple h is no different from Vince when It comes to roman title matches
They pissed on the fan base just so Roman can have 1000 days holding on to the B-list title, not 1000 days of the legit WWE title.

I always hate it when someone is ejected by the ref and they just come back anyway. If the idea is a rematch at Backlash and the Bloodline is banned from ringside, I'm gonna be livid. Because they will probably just show up anyway. Even if Cody wins the second time, it won't be the same.
My jaw dropped when the referee actually counted to three. I feel like such a huge wind was taken out of me. Canât do anything but hope this will be a purposeful story for Cody to eventually win the titles from Roman and not just shock factor booking
In stadium while they were playing to replay, the ref is staring up at the screen watching Solo get back into the arena after being ejected, which apparently doesnât matter anymore, glaring at him to restart the match.

And they fucked it up. I feel cheated and pissed off. Who in their right mind could say that this is good Wrestling storytelling? I canât even call it a good business move because itâs made me lose faith in the bookings all over again and drove me away from the product. Just ugh. Iâm too upset I need to chill
I agree 100%...WWE made a HUGE mistake, a lot of people will tune out after this, because they are saying all over the net that this was HHH idea, LIES this has Vince all over it.
The worst aspect of that finish it was virtually indistinguishable from the countless other Heel matches where they can only conquer an opponent through a Ref Bump and Interference. You going to have Cody lose, at least make it clean. Otherwise, I don't think I can stomach more of the same. Roman has now crossed from "Natural Heel Heat" into "Get The Hell Off My Television Heat".

My mental state at the moment is the scene from Forrest Gump. When Forrest stopped running and saying: "i'm pretty tired. Think I'll go home now." That's how I feel about WWE. I've been running with this storyline for almost 3 years now. And now I'm done.
I stopped watching WWE a few years ago, but kept up with things through you guys and Cultaholic. I decided to give this Mania a shot and was feeling really tempted back. Yeah Brock's match sucked, the women's tag sucked because the deflating ending, but the IC match was hot fire. Then the hell in a cell was great too (sad the Demon lost, but Edge needed to win the feud IMO) and Belair v Asuka was amazing. Then this main event happened, and I was transported back to 2016 WWE were every PPV ended with a spear and Roman having his hand raised. That minute of stunned silence said it all! They dropped the ball!
I hope this makes sense in a few weeks but right now... ooh, it does feel like someone has just kicked us full on in the dick.
I was watching in the office then the pinfall happened and I proceeded to walk to the roofdeck with the same stare as Pete for four straight minutes.
Unpopular opinion. Due to very similar reasons like many felt last night, I had decided to stop watching WWE in 2017-18. I thought they had no idea what they're doing and are not giving the fans and I what we wanted.
Since then every now and then I just keep up with news and highlights to see what's happening. The tribal chief gimmick surely caught my eye but I still didn't get back to watching it. A couple of years went by and i started watching more about the storylines etc and saw Cody Rhodes' return and injury and then return. I have to say that I did find it odd that Cody Rhodes' came back and was pushed into the title picture so fast that it didn't personally make much sense. I thought usually you build a person and his journey within a certain company a little more. Not just a title run immediately after their return. What I am saying is, that being away from the company for a little time, allowed me to see a bigger picture that there is more to these stories and outcomes. I was a little surprised when I learned Cody lost, but that was because the internet was talking about how there is no chance of Cody not winning. But for some reason, to me it makes sense. Roman has his tribe with him still. If he has to lose, firstly the tribe needs to be completely broken. That hasn't happened yet. So their interference etc was bound to happen. To me it makes sense that breaking apart the tribe first has to be the next step.
Anyway, I'm done with my rambling. Just thought I'd put it out there for anyone interested in reading such long comments. Sometimes, taking a step back and seeing a bigger picture helps put sense into somethings.
All the people saying "wait, the story isn't done yet" don't realize that most people are past the point of caring now. Yes, eventually, Roman will lose, but if they overdo his reign nobody will care. Honestly, I'm not that shocked or upset about him retaining but now I really just don't care anymore.
@@christophermarriott1681 To be fair, I think H is well aware that this was the perfect time to end it but he just sees Roman reaching 1000 days as more important. That's what's going to cement this reign in the long run. "Nine hundred something" doesn't have the same ring to it as "over a 1000". But yeah, I haven't really been invested personally. I'm so tired of Roman. Since like 2016. "The story isn't done yet" is just an excuse to have your guy beat everyone.
The stretch of silence after Roman wins says everythingđđ. Totally agree. The problem with Roman winning is not that he won. Its that nothing has changed and we are back to square 1.
I picked Roman to win. Anyone who thought that Roman would get THIS CLOSE to 1000 days as the Champ and lose it are fooling themselves. Reigns can run the Usos down for losing, while he still has the title. Cody can beat Roman at SummerSlam. Roman gets to 1000+, the Bloodline continues to implode.

At this point the only person who could either A: beat Roman or B: cause him to lose is Solo. Either he turns on Roman after being told that he's not ready by Cody and having Roman basically agree with him that Solo isn't ready, to the fact that Roman only won his last 3 defences because Solo saved his ass, could be the thing that drives Solo to challenge him. Or the next challenger, Solo just doesn't help him and that costs Roman as he clearly relies on and trust Solo more than anybody else. Even if it's Cody again but with Cody not helping.
The things I've seen are "Well Cody hasn't faced any adversity. Rocky didn't win the title the first time, Cody needs to lose to overcome that and then win because the babyface's job is to chase the title." yeah in most cases, but not when the build and everything lines up perfectly for closing it out at Mania like Pete said.
