When you were shooting the T18B you were not missing him. The T18B has one of the tankiest airframes at 4.3 Edit: you should play the T18B (it plays like a larger interceptor with a bomber airspawn)
I remember hitting it with a few rounds of the Japanese 30mm cannons in the Ki-84 and all the game could say to me was "hit" before sending some more shots down his way. The last few shots, however... let's just say his left wing had more than just a hole in it.
The air brakes on the P-38 were because the plane has an issue with the centre of pressure of the wing moving too far backwards when reaching transonic speeds, meaning the plane couldn't pull out of a dive when going too fast (more likely at high altitudes) These were meant to disrupt the flow around the wing to enable the plane to lift out.
This plane is FANTASTIC. The very best of all the p38s with airbrakes and boosted ailerons. Interceptor spawn but you get to 4.5km before engine turn red and meet enemies. Although it's 4.7 br it's downtiered 90% of the time and you meet wyverns and xp50s.
Personally I love the P-38L, great energy fighter, and you can out-vert-turn many planes when you come in with an energy advantage. (also your use of an apostrophe in "plane's" is grammatically incorrect, sorry, can't help myself)
can confirm it's hilariously good. you climb at 320kph and you end up above EVERYONE. and when you put the flaps out, it suddenly begins outturning 109Gs on the regular
@@tofutheboi It's better than the premium K, unless you enjoy compressing at high speed. the roll rate is also surprisingly good and you get some ground pound options for GRB if you are into that sorta thing.
Hey Joob. Since you enjoy props why not try out the Ki-61-I Otsu. Incredibly fun plane with (imo) great guns. The airframe is also incredibly fun, allowing for decent out manouvering of near anything at the BR.
@@pandoranbias1622 It gets 20s, but I feel like cannons at the moment just arent fun at all to use. Atleast with the otsu it feels like the .50s can actually shred a plane. That and its a lower BR.
if i would recommend a surprisingly fun prop to play next it would have to be the b18a at 2.7, the single 13.2mm is insanely powerful and dogfighting in the b18a is very fun
The P-38 has dive *flaps* and not dive brakes. They *do not* slow the plane down. They break up a supersonic layer of air around the wing, and add a pitch up moment.
Pro tip to anyone thinking they need to circle their airfield to not die: you can land, repair, and then bail out of your aircraft. It won't count as a death on your stat card, and you don't have to pay a repair cost. Saves everyone a lot of time and boredom.
I do that. But a surprising amount of the times I do, some yahoo times it to come screaming in to kill me while I'm low and slow with my gear down. So I pull my gear back up,punch it, and dodge their shot, and the airfield AAA kills them. And then they give me grief in chat for airfield camping. Dude, I'm TRYING to land...that's actually why you chose that moment to dive in me.

This plane rates better with combat flaps than without. And with takeoff flaps you don’t rate much worse and gain a lot better radius. So basically just spam flaps on this plane.
I love the P38L, my only gripe with it is that my aim is horrible and I can't get guns on (and no, that's not common p38 fault because this one has the best control authority of them all)

When you ask “why postpone the game”, it’s because rp rewards increase based on the length of the match. A testament to gaijin’s game design, by prolonging the match and making it boring and miserable for everyone, they are actually getting better rewards
6:06 thing is though, if i were the Pe-8 in this instance, i would ask in global chat if they would let me get one more bomb drop off for the RP grind and then they could kill me. The game was already over t that point, so why not just be a bro. Im one of those players that let bomber players do so, because i know the bomber grind isnt easy in the game. @@_Joob It obviously isnt, but im comparing it to your older (i mean a month or two back, not that old yeah) video styles, which were not live and actually were educational, and i just think that you can very well implement the start of those vids where you talk about whats good and whats bad in this plane etc. Just in the first 30 seconds, replacing the intro of your current style, while still being live. I dont think it'd muhc efoort, but it would bring the video quite a bit up imo

man ive been playing this a lot since 8.7-10.7 BR is so compressed at the moment. it feels so good to fly the p38L, the flaps and roll rate are INSANE
