Longest train wreck I recall ever seeing. Like a Newton's cradle when you cut the strings. Proly have to take the win away, but definite style points for the efficient elimination of the field in front.
@@TurianArbiter856 So in the end, the top dawgs wanted to take him out behind the paddock and ... well why spoil the surprise. The rest of the field was like "Dude, I gained 6 spots. Let buy you a beer."
I believe what may happened is he received a bump from the back in a spot where the braking zone starts. It lurches him back in his seat thus pulling his foot away from the brake pedal. Causing this final lap incident
There may have been a very light tap from Jared Thomas, but Carter would still have overshot his braking point and the incident would have played out virtually the same.@@daddsballs9836
IMSA, you have a winner in MX-5 Cup racing. Damn, that finish. Hate to see it, love to watch it. Gotta say, GW seems to be getting a better grip on his temper when things go sideways. Great race!
So many lead changes in the opening laps. Looked to be a slight misjudgement in braking that caused all of the excitement. I liked the inclusion of one of my favorite teams (Macumby Maculary, forgive the spelling) from Michelin Pilot involved in the short oval test. It's clear that IMSA shows loyalty back to the folks who are loyal to them.
Quick comment about that intro. We, in the USA are blessed IF, AND I MEAN IF you live on the coast. I live in oklahoma, it is the size of 0.75 times the size of the UK, and I kid you not, with a population of 4 million people, there is ONE... FRICKEN ONE motor circuit (a thing with turns -__- ). The car culture here SUCKS!
The end of this race was a sham. Do better at policing drivers so they don't feel it's ok to race like a video game; real life has consequences and that finish has cost people money/potential injury.
Well, that was just a mistake. Everyone makes mistakes, you can't blame the driver for it. And I'm sure he doesn't feel ok for this. Do you really think real drivers don't know consequences? They pay tons of money to get to racing, they know all of it better than regular CZcams warrior like you
To put in all that work only to have it completely unraveled on the last lap! Unbelievable!
Cup series never disappoints!
Thank you guys for bringing us great racing like this.

Yeah, he got the win removed for this and it went to Thomas instead

Kudos to all the race teams, also to IMSA for their quickly talking to the lead drivers about the racing situation.
I daily a autocross-ready NB miata and watching this fills me with so much joy
5:01 Race Start
Thanks IMSA you legends!
Excellent. Watching it over because we had so much fun at VIR yesterday
This is a junior NASCAR road race, no passing happens here without slipping through an invisible tunnel first, wonderful !
49:58 Michael CArter hit the back of Aaron Jeansonne Car and that caused all of those collisions like Dominos!
Carter = 🐂+🦏 PERFECT
And setting the points gap on the distributor, used my feeler gauges a lot on my old Willy’s!

Boy, Wagner is definitely an excited driver, to say the least lol
Hear me out, MX-5 cup... on the New Hampshire road course. I think it would be crazy with how tight it is.
The greatest racing ever
So was there a penalty to Carter or did he get win?
Penalty, Jared Thomas won as a result.
@@taidokazu Good. There was no way he deserved first after causing that.
Did Carter get bumped from behind though? I’m not 100% certain he started the chain reaction. Watch the 96 car. 51:50

Look like Carter may have a Norfolk Southern sponsorship coming after that train wreck!

But wait! What was the result? What did race control determine?! 😫
Thank you!

Imagine if mazda sold an edition of the mx5 with the same specs as these cars
Carter punted them all
That’s a old go cart move
He went full-send, you never go full-send…
Ross Chastain is taking notes...
Ross Chastain did this a year ago, it is Micheal Carter taking notes 😂
Very nice track to drive but not to race.

Not good race , it was MESS

The win was revoked for that car after the race
