- This is Iceland's first 4K 24/7 live stream of the volcanic activity near the town of Grindavik Iceland. The current eruption which began on March 16, 2024 just ended on May 8th. According to the Iceland Meterological Office, there is an increased likelihood of a new dike intrusion and another eruption in the coming days. The most likely location for a new eruption is the Sundhnúk crater row.
This camera is situated on the southern tip of Þorbjörn. Þorbjörn is a 243 m high volcanic mountain next to the town of Grindavík. The camera is usually pointed Northeast at the erupting volcano but may occasionally pan north or south to observe other features of the area. It is about 2km away from the erupting volcano.

A volcano pops up out back, so you put up a berm. It's impressive to see the people of Iceland deal with this like it's just a problem to solve. I hope Grindavik can be saved, but some of the ground is severely fractured.
It's cool that they're clearing out the cooled down lava
Awesome machinery controlled by operators that amaze me with their ability to use them safely under the pressure we have observed during the last eruption. Thank you for the live feed.
"Ants go marching" is playing in my head. 😊
This would be a better time lapse
I just watched it at 2X the speed 😊
No. Be patient. Spend the time to observe and appreciate the efforts. And enjoy the Building of Iceland show.
