Harry Morgan was an American actor best known for his roles in both film and television. He was born in 1915 and began his acting career in the 1930s, appearing in over 100 films throughout his career. Morgan is perhaps best remembered for his role as Officer Bill Gannon in the television series "Dragnet," which aired from 1967 to 1970. He also played Colonel Sherman T. Potter in the popular television series "MAS*H" from 1975 to 1983. Harry Morgan passed away in 2011 at the age of 96, leaving behind a lasting legacy in the entertainment industry.

Harry Morgan’s first appearance on MASH was a guest appearance as General Steele, an eccentric army officer, bordering on insane. Harry was best known on MASH for the character Colonel Sherman Potter, replacing McLean Stevenson as the MASH commanding officer.

Good effort, but this video left out a lot. His big breakthrough TV show was Pete ‘n Gladys, and his big M*A*S*H role was Col. Sherman Potter.

Good lord, who writes this garbage. The narrration is full of mispronouncing, as usual. Morgan did become best known for playing Colonel Sherman Potter on MASH, not as a General! The writers left out his role on December Bride, and in one of the first "spin offs" on TV from that series Pete and Gladis. Also, he played the judge in a major motion picture, Inherit the Wind.
Henry Arnold Bratsburg is my Great-Grandfather. I was named after Harry's Uncle Tøvis. Tøvis was also the name of Henry's father who would be my Great-Great Grandfather. Henry's grave says Bratsburg. I wish I would have been able to ask Harry more about it before he passed away.
He always seemed to be a decent sort and easy to work with. We'll suspend judgement on his domestic violencce charge....
