When we purchased our sailing catamaran several months ago we knew we'd be celebrating Nikki's birthday in the Bahamas! We've made our way to the famous pink sand beaches of Harbour Island, Eleuthera to celebrate. Turns out the beaches aren't that pink...at least not as pink as the postcards! That's another win for marketing and fake travel articles, but it's not too big of a bummer as the beaches are still absolutely lovely here (pink or not).
We've been told Harbour Island is the playground for the rich and famous so we've given ourselves a birthday challenge: Enjoy the entire day on what it would cost for one dinner out.

Another fun and interesting video! Nikki's pink Birthday beach with the shot overlooking the water was just so awesomely beautiful, as was that drone's beautiful fly over. I love how you two are so loving toward each other and how you have fun with it.....couples would do well to take notice, like we did while watching Cosby's Dr. Huxtable ages ago.

As you head south, we hope you get to spend time on Long Island (beautiful) and Cat Island. On Cat Island, you must hike to the top of Mt. Alvernia (the highest point in all the Bahamas).

I visited Harbour Island many years ago with my parents, and stayed at a resort next to the Pink Sands Hotel which was incredible. Two gay guys Basil & David owned the hotel & 3 mandatory meals / day were prepared by them including a required / dress up supper. It was very laid back and elegantly done with separate bungalows for the guests & the most beautiful beach with pink tint on certain days. You two are a lovely couple and having sailed through Hopetown etc, wish you the best.
A birthday you will never forget just wonderful place to celebrate expensive but beautiful

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! My oldest daughter got to travel to Eleuthra years ago and brought her mom back some polished pink rocks from the sand! I treasure those! Collecting sand from various friends from various beaches and hope to make a display in a clear jug one day! :) MJ
