If the price was around the 100k mark it would make sense trying to get it fixed and running but with the amount of money you could still make selling the parts I doubt it will sell cheap.

  • @johnantonopoulous6381

If the main chassis okay on the wrecked one I would go with that one. If the main chassis is not okay because their carbon it will probably cost as much as the car is worth to repair it probably only directly at the McLaren is you typically will need a whole new p1 chassis. The one that's flooded will probably have to have everything stripped out. Especially to verify all the electronics are okay.

I'd ask Tavarish... You could do an episode of car trek where the headline is "everyone has to fix a p1" and you both have p1's and then hoovie rolls up in the DDE720 GTR on a tow truck (shout out Gintani)

In my state they unfortunately have laws that prevent you from purchasing a flooded car back. They all have to be sold out of state.

Different! I have to say that I'd probably avoid any car which had been exposed to salt water!

Owner should have had one of those protective car bubble things, I’ve seen ones in areas that get tsunamis where you strap the car to the ground so it doesn’t float away

  • @cousinjohncarstuff4568

An idea for Car Trek! Limit of $10,000 to spend on a flood car. Who can get their flood car up and running once again for the lowest amount of $? Put them through challenges and see how many still hold up. Then put them on an auction website, and see which one brings the biggest profit, or least loss as the case may be.

Ed, the best way to fix a saltwater car is to sink it in freshwater for a week. We do this to seaplanes that sink in saltwater. The freshwater flushes out all the saltwater. It works.

I'd buy the stolen and crashed P1. The flood car might be a good story but it's probably going to be way more expensive to own in the long term, and it certainly won't see gains in value.
