Traxxas TRX--4 Sport: goo.gl/ucvYCH Today Alex and James check out the new TRX-4 sport and take it for it's first crawling expedition! Music by Gurty Beats
Seriously bruv, why don't you use some budget cars from banggood and gearbest? this Trax-ass crap is WAY overpriced for what it is. DHK Zombie. DHK Maximus. JLB 21101. JLB J3SPEED . If you insist on spending Traxxass money, why not get Arrma? Better stronger faster more reliable, cheaper to fix! Red Cat and Trax-ass are for people who don't know any better. They're the McDonalds of RC cars. Try some Asian food and a decent steak for a change.
Thanks for the video guys! You finally made me take the step to a crawler. Raced Nitro 10th scale off road, on road and 1/5 scale onroad and motorcycles for years. I was introduced to Crawlers about 10 years ago when they were expensive but still needed a lot of tuning. After watching you video when it came out it was time for research which all came up mostly positive so I placed an order. The truck arrived yesterday so today it went outside to an area of riprap I won't walk on and it was amazing!! After owning several Traxxas RC's over the years I trust them for support. Thanks
Ok this IS WHAT YOU NEED To WIN... dual stage foams by proline. Hyrax tires by proline . Put weights inside the wheels with 2 sided tape . Then get the brass weighted upgrades for the TRX4. Portal covers ect.Believe it or not with the right steering servo ..waterproof one. Then let's go with a brass link set. I've won 3 comps this year so far this is just part of the winning set up but hey it's a big start. Experiment with different gearing .SAY no to brushless it crawls duh..so Servo Tires and Low CG Wins ...Great just doit and have a great time. Thanks MH. RCaddict.
Frankly not a big Traxxas fan. I am Flite Test/ Drive On fan. I'm glad I waited to watch a review on this truck until you did one. It was just enough information. I like your formatt and production values. Good First impression/overview.
James: I don't know you personally, but welcome to the States! I hope you have a fun, safe, and amazing time.. Rolling with the FT guys... I am sure that will not be hard to do. Alex: Crawling may not be for me, but watching you all at FT at high speeds... This slowed down R/C car content is a welcome chamge to enjoy.
Another Great vid guys! Would you he able to test the side slope crawl angle capabilities with and without the lift kit please!! Im in the U.K patiently awaiting the release of this truck 😎😁
If you put the lift kit on it will not only be higher but also you would raise that center of gravity and it would be more likely to tip over when going sideways would not recommend doing it if your going to be serious about rocks crawling but it would help if your trying to make it into a muddying truck
Seems like a fairly competent trailer from the 1st impression video. A further video showing the crawling ability might be good. Preferably before fitting a lift kit. It is (for a Traxxas anyway) relatively inexpensive.
Some weeks ago I suggested that Austin and Alex might like to take on the infamous Flite Test dirt pile. Surely this TRX 4 would make an excellent candidate to take on this challenge...and if crawling won´t get us up there, I´d like to see them charge it at speed with a 4WD buggy or short-course truck. Either way, I hereby challenge the "Drive On" team to conquer the dirt pile before it´s too late!
ive been considering this thing. but then again i am one of those people that likes all the features. makes me consider the other one simply because it has the locking diffs and other modes. but regardless it looks like a solid platform. I've never had a scale/crawler and i really want one but at the same time im not sure how i'll adjust because im fond of bashing at high speeds.
GAproductions But a lot of people do go brushless but only to get that extra wheel speed when going up something steep and don’t get good traction or when high centered to off center it to get the wheels touching ground
For crawling with brushless, you need a sensored system, otherwise the motor will cog like crazy. Brushed motors get the job done, but the motors can overheat if geared wrong or the rig is too heavy, brushless run a lot cooler. And yes, we do rip through the woods during comps, time is your enemy and you need to get from one gate to the other as quickly as possible. Also, having wheel speed on tap is a big advantage.
You guys should get in touch with me. Ive had 8-9 years experience with racing rc and am semi pro. I travel a bit and would be able to bring a bit more wealth of knowledge to videos. It really might help them to catch on. If you dont want my advice watch HarleyDesigns or the ScaleBuildersGuils they both have great crawler channels
I'll never get over how absolutely ridiculous Traxxas prices are. DJI prices are high but at least you get what you pay for. With traxxas there are plenty better and cheaper options.
I like the idea of Traxxas coming out with a little cheaper truck but they're body selection wasn't too good the thing is just ugly also the suspension didn't seem to work as well as my Bronco and Tactical Unit and not to hurt your feelings but get a haircut and shave man
Be sure to check out James' CZcams channel! czcams.com/channels/PCw5ycqW0fme1BdvNqOxbw.html

I have that car and I only 8 years old I good at ridding it

That truck was super fun! It was a blast to experience some Drive On action first-hand👌
Seeing James was a welcome surprise. I figured we'd have a dearth of Whomsley content until after Flite Fest. Awesome video as always.
Great video guys, the truck is awesome!
The TRX-4 is very good vehicle, I love mine. I've got the original one with 2 speed and diff locking and it's awesome. Have a lot of fun!

Yes I got the trx4 kit so it’s the price of this sport but has all the bells n whistles on it, n a brushless sensored motor would be great upgrade
Awesome truck, guys! 😀

Very cool RC! And video. Subbed!
It's coming home 🏴👍
DUDE JAMES!! What’s up, chilling with Flite Test!
Oh my goodness! James’s first canonical appearance on a Flite Test co video!
Another Great vid guys! Would you he able to test the side slope crawl angle capabilities with and without the lift kit please!! Im in the U.K patiently awaiting the release of this truck 😎😁
If you were goin for the weirdest music ever to play through a video montage.. you NAILED it!
Nice video guys! Any hope for getting those 3d printed pan/tilt designs out?
Can’t wait for Flite Fest! My RC channel is T.RC.Hobby. I will be there!

Yo Alex! Can we get a video on the long arm lift kit yet? Really looking forward to that one!
Which do you prefer between the trx4 sport or that f100 Ascender
I need a truck fairy to give me a big ol push when I’m stuck
I can’t wait for Flite Fest! My VLOG channel is Northumberland County T. I will be there!

Portal Axles are really great for giving the Sport, a 1" higher center of gravity 😈
Can you do a review on the traxxis summit
On the sport model are the diffs always locked in?

Great video.
Awesome!
Weekend? Where? 😨
i did NOT know that james was from england and i was not expecting him to look or sound like that lol
Where did you get that music from lol!
😊👍It's a beauty!
Sir, can you tell me the name of the song, appreciate
Song?
U need to do a video on slash 4x4
Bro I’m diggen the beat
Traxxas has Built the Sport Light, now all we have to do. Is Wind it Tight ;)
3S should be around 9mph stock out of the box. So it should have plenty of wheel speed!
I just bought one of these a month ago and love it! but it has some wheel wobble. Is that normal? I mean it’s brand new never taken off road.
Wheel wobbles are normal i think to fix it is to take the wheel off and tighten it up
You forgot to mention James has a pretty cool rc CZcams channel too.
I feel for a beginner wanting to rock climb this is for them
Ouch on the lift kit!!!
is this version faster than the other hence the word sport they used
GAproductions if anything it’s actually slightly slower this truck is like a base model compared to the other models
Awesome! We want a business cooperation with you. How can we contact you?
Did it come with a battery
No it did not batteries and charger are sold separately
PLEASE GET A UDR!!!!
👍
why not brushless?
GAproductions It's because when you're crawling you don't want speed, you want torque. 😉 So to use a brushless motor you would need a too low kv. 😊
GAproductions But a lot of people do go brushless but only to get that extra wheel speed when going up something steep and don’t get good traction or when high centered to off center it to get the wheels touching ground
GAproductions cause it would take it from being expensive to insanely expensive.

Go on kevin Talbot channel. He has 2 brushless trx-4's.
i have the sport body
i will paint `it in camaleon orange- red collor and place neopixel led and 2 woofers just for show

Who's watching this at Flite Fest?!
hello
And if you use 3s its plenty fast enough
Don't be rude you cut him off while he was talking
Informative video, but I don't care for the new trx4 sport
I'll never get over how absolutely ridiculous Traxxas prices are. DJI prices are high but at least you get what you pay for. With traxxas there are plenty better and cheaper options.
A tad boring.
Still over priced junk
I like the idea of Traxxas coming out with a little cheaper truck but they're body selection wasn't too good the thing is just ugly also the suspension didn't seem to work as well as my Bronco and Tactical Unit and not to hurt your feelings but get a haircut and shave man
thumbs down for awful production quality and awful music
Crawling is dumb get a big boy car that goes more than 10 miles an hour
Great video.
hello
