Symphonic music will never feel the same again after you let the third album of Australia's Aquilus wash over you.
Incredible in scope and ambition, this could easily be the best album of 2024, do NOT miss this!!

Nothing like working on coding over the weekend, and stumbling across a new Rhyme Signatures review drop to occupy my mind. Caffeine infused awesome. Thanks for another great album review. Its always good to discover new albums to listen to, through your insight. Cheers!

Lovely review! I gave the album a listen and it's exactly as you've said, singularly epic and full of interesting sonic landscapes. The closest works that I could compare it to would be "Heir to the Rising Sun" by Aeternam and even more so "Veil of Imagination" by Wilderun. Both have that deep sense scale that this album brings, like you've climbed to the top of a bluff and are looking out over a lush and fantastic valley full of details you could spend hours picking out.

One man did THIS? Wow. Definitely some old school Opeth vibes. But on a different level. This would be a bad ass sountrack to a live action dark Castlevania movie. This is the kind of black metal i can get behind 🤘

One of my favourite bands of the last decade. Griseus is one of my favourite albums of all time and this one did not disappoint. Such a distinct band.

I've since gone back and given his whole discog a listen, and honestly I think he's one of the most talented composers alive right now

I think I can forgive the Death Growls...for this album. I agree totally with your review. It's a one of a kind ride.

I've heard a lot of people who don't like growls at all, still vibe this one!

Added to my ever-growing list of albums to listen to. This definitely sounds like my type of black-metal.

It's one of the most interesting albums I've ever heard - I LOVE traditional black metal, but this is such a step beyond it

@@RhymeSignatures I'm more of an atmospheric BM type, but I remember enjoying Bathory in the early 90s.

@@RhymeSignatures Finished my review for posting tomorrow, but thanks to you and Notes for getting my attention to this. It is very good and indeed AOTY material. Reminded me a lot of Wilderun, but in a much more black-metal vibe.
