Myron Floren was simply the greatest accordian plyer EVER. He was just as responsible for the band's success as Welk was.

Now THIS was a group of musicians. It had to be very difficult to be standing in various places throughout the orchestra, listening to the others and playing off of what each was doing, and still making it sound this tight. But These guys were superstars in Welk's orchestra - this was no small feat. Really miss this kind of music.

My friend started a polka band (and I got invited to play trumpet in it), and I did not realize that the Lawrence Welk show (my mom mentions it all the time ;) ) did a lot of polka music...a lot that we're playing; so I enjoy all these. :D Thanks for uploading. ^_~

Growing up watching the show, I became overjoyed when Myron Floren was featured. I've never been a fan of the accordion, but his ability made it sound very different, very beautiful. What can I say but, WANAFUL - WANAFUL ! Thank you, Myron !

If I remember correctly, On this very same show, Bob Ralston Played "Happy Days and Here Again." He played the piano and the organ at the same time. I would love to see that again.

No that's the way I played my accordion! It's not like those Mozart's out there , but you can get enjoyment out of it!
    Well played sir!
I've heard the lady of Spain accordion sets and it's out of this world from what I played , but they have seemed to loose something in the playing.
It's rushed and seems to be more impersonal...mine was more of a feeling!

Isn't "Val de Ri" Swiss for "always free", or somesuch?
The theme of the song is to be able to wander freely, all
over the world "Beneath God's Clear Blue Sky", something
this EVIL "New World Order" is restricting more every day.
Let us never forget this simple but joyful little hiking song,
and fight with all we have to KEEP OUR FREEDOMS!
