could you have used the original controller board from the trolling motor and put it into your custom box?

Hey Andrew...thanks for watching! If I remember correctly, it was sealed into the head housing by a hardened liquid, and would have been a pain to get out. Knowing us, we probably would have damaged it. This board worked really well as long as it was cool. If you have any more questions, let us know!

Are you going to show how to connect the battery to the battery monitor?

Sorry for the delay in responding, this one slipped by us. We connected our battery negative (Black) to our battery monitors shunt on the battery side, and then the load side of the shunt to the negative bus bar with all of the loads attached to the bus bar. Hope this helps, and thanks for watching!

I have the same problem, same box. I was just looking on here for solutions. Ive already decapitated the trolling motor and wired it directly to the controller and changing the switch was my next move... So.. it didn't work for you and now I'm not sure what to do. Ive no reverse at all. I wonder if it's a problem with the PWM controller.

We figured it out by bypassing ALL of the internal circuitry on the trolling motor, so the motor directly hooks up to the board.

Also, you could test it with a multimeter. It should give you positive voltage in forward and negative in reverse!
