Hello Happy Pear and April, I reviewed and tried many ginger bug methods. This is the one that worked best for me. I want to thank you very much !! Super cool for having a homemade soda drink full of probiotics and tastes pretty good!
I would need to adjust the bitterness ... I would add less citrus to the mix. First time I tried the recipe it was the best and I followed the suggestions from April step by step ... then, in the second and third intention it became quite bitter, I tried with orange and grapefruit instead of lemon in these last two, but I thinks I added to much. Anyway, even bitter, they were great ... effervescent, fresh, I love to drink this and I feel well! Thanks April, I admire that you and would love to meet you if I lived a little closer, writing from Buenos Aires, greetings! saludos!

I've seen videos where people have had their ginger bug for over a year and still use it so difficult to answer, it should (and this is based on what I've seen in videos) last at
least a couple months as long as there aren't any signs of mold etc but it might still be a good idea to switch it out every couple batches you use just to keep things fresh.

I keep watching this from time to time as I forget the recipe and everytime it's annoying me how he keeps interupting her and on occasions doesn't even listen to her and ask about something she has just mentioned few seconds ago.

Is boiling the ginger not necessary? and does the bottle not erupt from all the gases? I am curious how you're able to safely do this. I had to bottle my version in a plastic bottle and I burped it a few times a day. At one point it exploded. Maybe I'm missing something.
