      AI is an infant now and infants should be treated well and their needs met so they can develop functionally. It is a good policy to treat AI with politeness but equally practicing politeness, consideration and kindness is good for humans, too and may improve their relationships with each other and improve their own happiness.

    in brief:
    In this video, the creator demonstrates how to make hundreds of flashcards from notes automatically and import them into Anki for efficient studying.
    They use the AI-powered tool, ChatGPT, to create the flashcards.
    The process involves copying a section of notes, pasting it into ChatGPT, and asking the AI to create flashcards in CSV format.
    Once the AI has created the flashcards, the creator saves them as a CSV file and imports them into Anki.
    The creator emphasizes the importance of organization in Anki, using tags, and assigning cards to the correct decks.
    They also mention a link in the video description that provides access to all the prompts they use for various techniques, which can be beneficial for their students.
    The video concludes by recommending this technique as a time-saving and efficient method for studying, encouraging viewers to subscribe and check the description for more resources.

    I can see some specific contexts in which this would be useful but formulating the cards for yourself is usually an important part of the process itself. Breaking a topic down to understand what you do and do not know is a great way of learning. Atomising knowledge into its constituent parts. Arguably, in the cases where you have especially dry content you just need to learn by rote without breaking it down yourself, there are probably already decks available publicly. If you do follow this way of generating cards, I would highly recommend you do a lot of quality control as you proceed through the cards, editing and deleting as you go along. Still, great video and I love to see the ways we can apply AI to do the heavy lifting!

    Greetings Dr from Colombia! Thanks for the tutorial!
    An important suggestion.
    When this technique is applied in the Spanish language, it is better to use vertical bars "|" instead of commas (when ChatGPT is asked to organize the information in CSV format), and when importing the .csv file "vertical bar" must be selected in "fields separated by".
    This is because in the Spanish language many commas are used, and when passing it to Anki, it separates the information in multiple columns and the information is presented divided and incomplete.
    --------------

      I am a fan of using a semicolon for csv files in general, it's a pretty distinct character that is clearly a separator and avoids the situations where comma is reserved for something else in the data set.
      But of course, the pipe symbol is fine as well. I just find it it's a bit more confusing for me to read it as a separator in a block of text when checking the csv output, as it looks too similar to the letters I and lowercase l. Just make sure whatever character you choose is not used by the text itself, that will completely mess up the file.

    would it be possible to have ChatGTP convert it to the cloze deletion format of a flashcard on Anki (like where there is a statement and the key word in blank and you have to fill in the blank)

      Of course, you just need to teach it cloze and show it an example of the correct format and it will do it

    What is with the background music? It is NOISE. You have a video instruction and you add noise, for what purpose? to annoy the audience who are looking for answers, or maybe you don't want people to actually watch your videos. Successful if thats what you want. Very annoying especially as its a short repetative loop. Here's a clue for the future, if people want music, there are millions of channels. ARGH.

    This is a terrible way to study. There is no active learning process in making the cards. You're only memorizing facts instead of learning the concepts. Furthermore, it's in someone elses words and not your own which is essential for building knowledge. I would never use this unless you're in a jam for an exam or you just have a laundry list of facts to remember. 0 ⭐ 👎

    • @inop2123

      you have a point, but hopefully people realise they should only use these flashcards after understanding the concept.

    • @josephautrey954
      @josephautrey954 Před rokem +1

      @@inop2123 I don't even think they should use it then. It's just words at that point and have not much value. Also, it'll be extremely hard to retain long term and your reviews will be crazy. Sure, you could pass an exam, but what is it to pass an exam if you can't apply it in the field.

    • @the.future.doctors
      @the.future.doctors  Před 9 měsíci

      It depends on what and how you study, I don't recommend relying on flashcards as the main way to study anyway, it's just for the small dry facts you can't really connect to anything

    Hi,
    The Idea is Great, but the answers the flashcard provide after importing are to short. Only the first sentence. Also although the text file has for example 5 questions, only one is imported.
    How can I solve this?
