The only reason i watch the podcasts is because of Varun. He's the best.
When I was in film school is the new WHEN I WAS IN US.
*Denis Villeneuve* my all time fav.
He's the force behind movies like *Arrival, Sicario, Prisoners, Enemy, Incendies*.
I hate you Karan for not letting others talk about Nolan !! :/
I'm disappointed, they didn't even mention Kanti Shah who made GUNDA :D
Nobody mentions kubrick ! Sad
6:47 That scene is from Pulp Fiction not Kill Bill.
You can understand what kind of analysis Varun has done in his film-school days :D . Don't even know where that scene was from.
haahah xD Good catch.
Karan Deshmukh good observation😂😂✌✌✌
Nice observation, but all these haters shitting on Varun for one mistake. Get a grip.
Aniket Joshi Yeah, I mean he mispoke, for crying out loud!
favorite youtubers pe podcast karo
these guys should talk about pewdiepie
thanks aadhar for sitting on vacant chair.
Yes guess favourite youtuber or youtube as a platform!
Frank Darabont also directed The Green Mile if you guys haven't watched it you are missing out.
No Stanley Kubrick and Alfred Hitchcock 😫, and Kubrick did lot of non linear narrative cinema.
"The shinning", no words to explain that movie.
Plus John lucas(star wars)
I just finished watching "A Clockwork Orange", Stanley Kubrick is amazing!
@@saahilgupta7175 George Lucas
The spielberg shot that Varun is referring to, is actually not spielberg's original idea... Alfred hitchcock used it first in Vertigo, if I'm not wrong... Just wanted to put this out there...
Sanghamitra SV yes, you are right about that. He employed that kind of shot while making Rear Window and Strangers on a Train as well.
Actually Hitchcock was also inspired from a French film for that shot
Favorite sibling stories!
I loved the fact that you brought up the "Goodbye Jews" line. It sends chills up my spine every time I watch it.
Also loved that you love "Office Space".
The research Mike Judge does for his movies is mind blowing. Was a bit disappointed that Indian directors didn't feature much. Satyajit Ray's Aguntuk, Adoor Gopalakrishnan's Elipattayam, Benegal's Kalyug, and Nihalani's Drohkaal are simply some of the best movies ever made.
Bring Tanmay and talk about Snapchat!
the best Indian director ever will always be Satyajit Ray, that guy is a genius
Oli Chatterjee and of course it always HAS to be a bengali who points that out.. p.s. - love Satyajit ray though.
Ok then :3
Yes Satyajit Ray
Frank Darabont ,Christopher Nolan,Woody Allen are the first name that pops up when I hear directors
Christopher Nolan . . .no questions asked
Tommy Wiseau needs to be in here. Greatest Director of all time xD
Nisarg Shah greatest actor of all time as well xD
paradoxicalman 19 Greatest Scriptwriter of all time as well xD
haha, these guys should make a podcast on wiseau.
paradoxicalman 19 plus he has a new movie coming out along with Greg Sestario (Best F(r)iends) not to mentiom the Franco brother's The disaster artist.
oh hi mark...
How can you forget Richard Linklater?! Boyhood was life changing.
Karan has watched the Edgar wright video of every frame of painting. Everything he said about Edgar wright was from that 😂
throughout the video : "Kautuk, speak up dude. Why so slow!!!!"
Disapoointed that no one mentioned John Hughes. He singlehandedly defined the coming-of-age genre.
Aishik Dhar I think you're absolutely right Aishik. What a shame.
Breakfast club 😌
I get nervous and suffer from anxiety when Kautuk speaks 😂
Rakesh Ompraksh Mehra.. Rang De Basanti was fucking awesome.
16:10 They wanted to cast Tom Hanks in 'The Shawshank Redemption', but later went with Tim Robbins as Hanks was busy with 'Forrest Gump'.
DDLJ is a story between Aamir and Shahrukh.
Aamir Khan?
Sorry Amrish Puri
*Ganja maarke dekh raha tha kya??*
dead😂😂😂😂😂
mention about bahubali!!
wow guys you are really making it more interesting week after week ! discussion about favourite actors would be fun as well
I am late but Taika Waititi after Thor Ragnarok and What we do in the shadows was great! Also, R. Balki😍😍
Kaagaz ke Phool. That is perhaps his best film! And we do know Guru Dutt! 😄
This was wonderful to watch. Thank you!
Thank you SnG for introducing me to one of the best channels, Every Frame A Painting!🙏🙌💯👌
Common guys.. Sydney Lumet, Peter Weir, Richard Linklater.. I expected more from u on this subject
Before trilogy is one of my favourites.
Hmm but it's impossible to go through all and ur picks are on point as well..
This was THE PODCAST of the series...
I love what these guys are doing with the locations
and love this got new movies to watch
thank you guys for introducing or reminding us so many great names
6:46 Pulp Fiction bro...
Hey Guys, hope you all doing well. Love your podcasts, Can’t wait for next season. Love your individual work as well. Just one thing to mention you haven’t put all episodes of podcasts on sound cloud. If you could do something about that please do that, so i can enjoy your podcasts while driving. Thanks. Love you guys. Keep it up. Stay blessed..
Yay! I thought of Tarantino even before you guys started!
Okay here's the thing guys! You do a take on famous directors and movies, do it in a way that you don't give out spoilers and make it in a way that you make others watch their movies
I'm sure whenever I have to watch Hollywood movies , I'll watch this podcast.
Neville, great show for you mom on prime
Watched yours too, Varun.
One hour stand up is very tough; great job, guys!
So glad that you guys started with THE Tarrentino.
Guy, please also do atleast an episode on indian film directors. (India: A tiny country eastwards to USA where you and your subscribers live)
I wish they'd talked more about David Fincher....Neville seems to be the only one who is a cinephile.
Varun: Ganja markar dekh raha tha kya picture?
I was WAITING for them to mention judd apatow!
the amount of information stored in varun's head actually baffles my mind.. Hollywood ki to krta hi hai..india ki koi bhi baat shuru hoti h chaahe gaane, comedy bc kch bhi..sath k sath machine gun jaise name-dropping shuru ho jati hai
They weren't going to cast Tom Cruise in Shawshank Redemption but Tom Hanks, he was unavailable as he was shooting for Forrest Gump. They ended up casting Tim Robbins. But lucky for Tom Hanks, his brilliant performance in Forrest Gump won him an oscar. Both the movies are great, but I think Shawshank Redemption is way better than most of the movies ever made.
Also, Frank Darabont has directed quite a few movies such as Green Mile, The Majestic, The Mist.. And not just Shawshank Redemption as you guys mentioned
I was in stitches at 25:17 xD hahaha
hey karan, thanks for mentioning Edgar Wright. He is a visual comedy genius.
waiting for you to mention David Fincher
Uthkarsh Shivaprakash just recently watched fight club...... blown!!
Mindhunter mann
Kubrick?
shining
Eyes wide awake .
Full metal jacket
A clockwork orange
FYI Frank Darabont also directed The Green Mile, The Majestic, The Mist, a short The Woman in the Room and a TV movie Buried Alive.
Thank you for mentioning The Arrival
Varun what kind of Tarantino fan are you?
The ODing scene is not from Kill bill its from Pulp fiction.
Hi guys,I am a big fan of your podcast as well as your individual stand - up comedy shows .
In my opinion, the following are some well directed films that you could discuss about in the second part of the podcast
M.night shymalan who is an indian - american and he has directed amazing films like Split and the sixth sense.
David fincher, director of the film Zodiac
Inside out- Pete Decter
Indian directors-
Aparna Sen for films like 15 park avenue
Kundan Shah - jaane bhi do yaaron
Debut director konkan Sen for - A death in the gunj
Lastly,Sonali Bose and Nilesh Maniya who directed Margarita with a Straw
Looking forward to the next podcast

Yash chopra directed movies like dhool ka phool and dharamputra and both were so progressive for 1950s era.
I'm so pleased someone mentioned Edgar Wright

I liked first then started watching just because of length of vid.
Very nice discussion.
I wish you should have talked a little about Guru Dutt. He is my favorite director.
one of the best podcasts ever.
Frank Darabont - The Green Mile, The Mist and few more.....he also directed few episodes from Walking Dead.....
Frank Dorabont also made another great movie called "The Green Mile" starring Tom Hanks also adapted from a Stephen King novel.
I'm 7 minutes into this video and no one has yet mentioned richard linklater and Stanley Kubrick.
how did you guys forget about M Night shyamalan?
Quentin Tarantino was inspired by Kamal Hassan's "Aalavandhan" for the animation sequence in KILL BILL.
Akira Kurosawa also did non linear storytelling
Lucky Ali played Tim Roth's aka Mr. Orange 's part in Kaante. Kumar Gaurav was Mr.Pink aka Steve Buscemi. Tarantino himself considers Kaante to be the best remake of RD and has complimented it a few times.
About to watch part 2. Would be very disappointed if you guys didn't talk about Vishal Bhardwaj.
Non Linear Story Telling : Citizen Kane and Annie Hill. Ek dum masth.
Watched this podcast so many times
Tarantino took inspiration from Kamal hasan's movie Abhay ( the animated fight scene ) in Kill Bill ....
Hrishikesh Mukherjee was an awesome director. Golmaal, Chupke Chupke and Chashme Badoor. really good
Edger Wright..❤ thnx for mentioning it dude..👍
Jackie Brown is Tarantino's most underrated movie. If you watch it after Pulp Fiction, you'll definitely won't love it. Watch it again after sometime, I guarantee you'll love it.
Question : Favorite/Expirienced/2nd Person acccount - Paranormal stories (Non-Ghost related)
loved it :)
what are our favorite music ?
on an edgar wright marathon. thats what an podcast can do.
That adrenaline shot was in Pulp Fiction. That hitman took her to the drug dealer.
19:31 Talking about drug addiction? Watch Enter the Void by Gaspar Noe. Fun fact one of the members of Daft Punk (Thomas) was the sound effects director :D.
sng podcasts have become like a slam book but in a video format.
our fav x our fav y and shit like that ..
I'm sure there are some better BIG QUESTIONS that you guys can discuss
Guys please upload an Audio version of the Podcast on some Podcast app or at least SoundCloud!! Would be great for us Audiophiles.
Aadar dying of laughter is my favourite part of these podcasts.
Next Big Question: Why is Aadar part of SnG?
TheDarkKnight because he can tape your mouth with tarantino t shirt
I feel that way about Aadhar. How is he a professional comedian? His timing is just never on point and he has no content to speak :/
TheDarkKnight it's Aadar
Come on guys!! He must be paying for all the production!!
man I have to start taking notes 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
You guys missed one of the best directors of all time: Stanley Kubrick!! Lolita / 2001: A Space Odyssey / A Clockwork Orange / Barry Lyndon / The Shining / Full Metal Jacket / Eyes Wide Shut
Dude Frank Darabont made The Green Mile.
Another amazing movie.
the shot varun is talking about is the dolly zoom
lol goodbye Jews I was just waiting for someone to make that reference
You must have seen the video from Lessons from the Screenplay on Inglorious Bastards.
Here we go.!
Neeraj pandey..... Wednesday!!! How can u forget. And d one who made Nayak ..these were fucking awesome movies..
Nayak is an awesome film?, a film that has johnny liver constantly saying "ja be chakke" is worth mentioning in the same breath as films like pulp fiction or taxi driver? seriously?
