    Erica, I have said time and time again that, you are just amazing and we need more kind people like you in this world. There are so many candle channels but there are not transparent as you are. You are a great teacher as well. I thank you for your help and I pray for God to bless you so much that, you will not have enough places to store your blessings.❤️❤️❤️

    I totally agree with one of the comments below: the one from Regina Wallace. I have learned so much from you and I have been planning my candle business for more than a year and I still haven't started. You see, I live in Mexico and even though I can travel to the USA I don't own a car. Also , financially, I'm a little stuck... but I'm getting there. My business is pretty much all planned, I just need a break. But still doing research as to nearby suppliers. I guess a supplier in Texas would be my best choice.
    But getting back to you. I have a huge notebook where I have written your math on fragrances and other stuff, it's precious to me. Nobody does what you do...you share, give tips and when I first started watching your channel I was so suprised that you give amounts, names, sizes...YOU'RE AMAZING!!! (BTW you were the first candle making channel I subscribed to).
    You are the reason I started planning my candle business. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
    You might be asking yourself why I don't buy here in my country, well, a zillion reasons: too expensive, low quality or the wrong type of wax and many, many companies NEVER answer their phone.
    Anyway thank you, thank you, thank you for existing. Love you bunches. God bless you for being the way you are!
    Greetings from Mexico!!! Oh and by the way , my name is Leticia. I always show as Jools4U because I used to have a jewelry YT channel . Thanks

    Just starting my journey and thought the same with choosing suppliers nearby to cut costs. I’m lucky to have multiple that are within a 20-30 min drive or very minimal shipping if they don’t have pickup because it’s within my city. Many suppliers have a lot of resources on their sites including wick charts depending on diameter of your vessels and wax type. Thank you for sharing.

    You have been such a huge help in my journey and I remember in the beginning, just, knowing what I wanted and why I wanted it in my products, but being SO LOST on everything ranging from how to price: to understanding the process. You've been an amazing teacher. Thank you as always.

    That's such great advice! I wish I had done that more, especially in the beginning.
    I just called CCS last week regarding wicking recommendations for their 10 oz. Cali jars (I already use the 6 oz. ones) because I was having trouble with them. They were SOOOO nice, friendly & accommodating.
    Thank you for another great video! :)

    I don't have much to add, good video on your thought process. As to what I am doing I am stuck paying for shipping from everywhere because I feel like I live in a black hole of nowhere. For candles, I am doing tins with accessories for the tins for reuse. As for wax melts, I am currently making my own molds/masters for custom "snap bars," clamshells, and bulk bag melts.
    Seems I am going about it the hard way on everything. Ha.

    I barely started 2 months ago knowing NOTHING no clue at all. Getting wax from hobby lobby as well , then 464 soy wax , then coconut soy blend omg a lot of money trying wax molds etc lost omg hahaha
    Barely knowing there’s different kinds of wick and it doesn’t work with all wax and fragrance so I’m still in the process of learning, watching lots of videos…. I’m gonna stay with these wax for now just looking for wicks that work well for the jars I’m using now uffff believe me not easy for me but I’m improving I guess

    Hi Erica, thank you for your amazing videos. I have a question and hoping you could guide me :) when it comes to picking the scents, what are your standards? What would make you decide whether you want to put a scent out or not? Do you decide it on how much you like it?

    Hi Erica, I am a newbie, have made about 10 candles so far. Bought a kit on Amazon and just thru trial and error got some really nice candles. I live in Sweden (moved here 20 years ago from the west coast of the US. We don't have any candle companies to use as mentors so I was really glad to find your channel. I am really wondering about wicks and what all the names and or numbers mean and how they burn without having to buy all the different types. Things are more expensive here than in the US if you can even find them. I have seen the eko wick on sale in one store here. Also having a problem with essential oils I need to use so much to get any fragrance at all from my candle. Looking forward to watching all your videos. You have a very charming and personable personality when you explain things, easy to understand. Thanks!

    Hi, I've been enjoying your videos. I've been struggling with wicking 100% beeswax candles. From what I hear they're harder to burn, and that's matching up with my experience. I've tried #4, braided wick, 2 x #4, #6, .50" wooden and .625" wooden and none seem to melt to the edge. Lots of tunneling. Hoping I find some tips in some of your videos.

    Took me a while to figure out the type of wooden wicks to use. First, I got some off of Amazon, which barely stayed lit and didn’t burn hot enough. Then I bought wicks from Makesy (formerly Wooden Wick Candle Co.) with a crackling booster, but the ones I got were too wide and burned way too hot. I eventually found the .5” wide wicks work best with my 3” wide jars, though I’m always open to making adjustments. I love the crackling sound that the crackling booster provides :)

    Do you need insurance for your candle business ?

  • @samanthachristensen672

    Do you experience any rusting with your tins? I just returned a box of 100 to cal candle supply. After a few days with 2 different waxes they would rust 😕

    • @RoseKindred
      @RoseKindred Před rokem +1

      While I do not use their tins specifically tins do tend to rust, well it is more of a chemical reaction and oxidation, and can occur with certain waxes and/or certain chemicals in Oils. I know that seems vague but it relies on the formula of the chemicals involved, some imitation scents may not trigger it while others would. It may be unsightly but not actually damaging the tin.
      I would recommend looking for tins that specifically say they are coated to prevent this. Candle Science states they now varnish the inside of the can but even still some fragrances will cause discoloration. "Citrus oils, cinnamon oil, and vanillin in fragrance oils can still cause the color of the tin to shift, particularly at higher fragrances loads."
      Anyways, just a random maker's thoughts, but I hope it helps.

    • @anaroberts6636
      @anaroberts6636 Před rokem +2

      Vanillin causes it to look "rusty" but it's not really rusty and doesn't affect the candle =)

      @@anaroberts6636 I understand that, but I’m not comfortable selling candles that look rusty. I was curious if Erica has any issues w “rust” as I purchased the same tins she uses and she sells so many of them. Unfortunately they just did not work for me.

    • @MemoryBoxCandleCo
      @MemoryBoxCandleCo  Před rokem +1

      Yes I do have this issue! It’s not really the tins, it’s just the chemical reaction to the tin + any fragrance with vanillin

    • @anaroberts6636
      @anaroberts6636 Před rokem

      Well, I personally don't sell them, because customers don't really know the difference. That's just me tho. I avoid using tins for vanillin.
