The amount of power these engines make is amazing

    Insane power

Whats amazing is what the trucks can do with so little power. Like ya 1400 hp is crazy but to send things that big fly so far and so high off off such short runs is amazing.

Me waiting for the graver digger type sound like in the shows:

Do you're engines employ some kind of moveable oil pick up so oil is kept supplied to the engine when they are sideways upside down etc.?

I would guess the sump is baffled very well. we need to find a in truck shot on the nose and find the oil pressure gauge

I'm guessing remote sump setup like a LeMans type race car. Or a high performance late model Corvette if we are talking stock street cars.

I would guess an accumulator, but thats just a guess.

Oil is in a tank with a auxiliary pump to keep the engine supplied with oil even if the pan is empty if the truck is upside down

Amazing after a 7000rpm pull you shut the engine down so quick......even i a car you would aleast let
    it idle for abit ?

All aluminum 540 BBC, Aluminum rods, Brodix heads, 11:1 compression, .700+ lift camshaft and a 8-71 littlefield or blower shop blower is what most of them run. Some run BDS as well. With only a 10% overdrive

Meanwhile they have 4 cylinder hondas making this kinda power. Also that torque curve looks horrendous.

robertsrt I don’t think you can compare torque

I'd like to see those 1,300 hp Honda grenades make that much power for more than 8 seconds at a time, much less tug around a 10,000lb truck with 2.5 ton planetary axles and 4 x 500lb tires for several minutes and then turn around and do it a few more times for one show. You can easily (but expensively) build a big block Chevy that will make this much horsepower and be streetable. Let's see that Honda sit at a stoplight or fill up at a gas station. An alcohol injected, non-blown, small block chevy in a sprint car can make 900+ horsepower and turn 8000-9000 rpm under load for a half hour straight and turn around and do it again 20+ nights before it needs freshened.
How exactly is that torque curve horrendous? There's a shit load of area under the curve below 5,000 rpm, where a monster truck would need it. Want to know about horrendous torque curves? Check out the curve on a turbo Honda. They don't even pump enough air to get the turbos spooled without retarding the shit out of your ignition and dumping fuel in it. They are a one trick pony.
