  • Tear down, clean and re-assembling my Dyson Bigball Cinetic vacuum cleaner. It's something I do every 6 months and the machine has lasted for years.
    It's not a "How to..." video but simply a short clip of how I did my maintenance.

    Have disassembled, cleaned and am currently drying off the parts of our 'Big Ball Animal Pro' CY22 cleaner (with the HUGE help of this video - many thanks)! FYI, it does NOT have a 'pre-motor' (blue and white cone-shape) filter. Just in case someone else has the same model.

    Thanks for making this video. I am stuck in last step of dissembling the dyskinesia . In your video the parts at 50 sec. It appear there is a spring or something keep preventing me from removing the last part. Can you help

    • @JamesTann
      @JamesTann  Před 2 lety +2

      You don't need to remove the spring mechanism and it can be washed as well. It won't rust. Most of the parts are held down by torx screws all around the circumference of each module, unscrewing all these screws should allow you to disassemble the unit.

  • @godwinel33
    @godwinel33 Před 2 lety +2

    I removed the torx holding down the metal filter assembly, that fist half won't budge, is it suppose to be really tight? Great video BTW, give me more confidence in washing the darn thing, warning all over the manual to DON'T DO IT, so i was scared before

    • @TribesBov
      @TribesBov Před 2 měsíci

      Late for a reply, but on mine it was slightly different method and the bit you are looking at was glued together as far as I can tell.
      For mine, it was remove the 2 screws holding on the plastic rod along the flat area. From there, you can pull the gasket off on the bottom bit (the gasket on mine wasn't just sitting in a channel not actually squished together). This will expose the longer screws that you can undo to open it up.

    What do you suggest for filters in the ball? Dyson says you don't need to replace the filters, however as far as I've seen, dust find its way down there. Do you replace your filters regularly as well?

    • @JamesTann

      There are two filters. One is in the cannister and the 2nd one is beside the motor in the wheel. Remove the wheel cover and unclip the large filter. Both can be washed with clean water. Make sure you dry them (in the sun) thoroughly before re-installing.

    • @JamesTann
      @JamesTann  Před 2 lety

      There's no filters in the canister. All the hep filters are in the 'ball' instead the rolling part. The canister is basically tightened with screws around the circumference. Use a torx screwdriver to remove the screws.
