    I’ve had ONE panda Cory on its own for about 3 years now. All the other fish had died and I was just waiting for my last panda to pass. However this panda is almost 6 years old and going strong so I recently got some tank mates. Doing the whole fish thing again. I am waiting for the pet store to call me when they have more pandas. Meantime I purchased one peppered Cory but now AFTER doing research am realizing imma need a few more of each lol. Thank you for this video!

      Thanks for watching and supporting the channel! I know what you mean about ending up with a lone individual. Hopefully the pandas come in soon and you are enjoying your tank again!

      Great call. I saw some gorgeous ones the other day, but I don't have a suitable tank for them at the moment.

    I jave a cold water tank. are there any coreys that would be ok in it?

    • @freshflowaquatics
      @freshflowaquatics  Před 4 měsíci +1

      The barbatus cory can live at temps down to 67. How cold is your tank?

    my cory suddenly got white spot this past days, what treatment should i do to cure them?

    • @freshflowaquatics
      @freshflowaquatics  Před 15 dny

      Oh no, I'm sorry to hear that. I'd bump the temp up to around 80 and use some meds. I've noticed that since cories spend a lot of time on the bottom, where they can pick ich up, they tend to have a hard time shaking ich without medicine. I do like Fritz meds, but whatever is available at your local fish store will probably work. Hopefully this is helpful!

    How many plants should you have in your corydora tank

    • @freshflowaquatics
      @freshflowaquatics  Před 4 měsíci +1

      You can add as many or few plants as you'd like - I prefer to have lots of plants because it looks pleasant but you don't need to have tons if you don't want to. I'd say adding a cave or other type of hiding spot is the most important.

    do they get along with african dwarf frogs?

    • @freshflowaquatics
      @freshflowaquatics  Před 3 měsíci +2

      They should get along fine. I'm not super knowledgable on dwarf frogs, I assume your talking about dwarf African clawed frogs, but they also like to be in groups so make sure you have enough space for a decent sized group of both!

    If you know how to gender corys, how can you tell if yours is a male or female? I have one with 3 bettas and I want to get at least 2 or 3 more but I don’t want babies lol, the Cory I have is a teardrop shaped one

    • @freshflowaquatics
      @freshflowaquatics  Před měsícem +1

      Great question! I should have covered that in the video for sure... It can be a little tricky to identify their sex at young ages - you'll have to use shape. The females have that teardrop shape like you mentioned, whereas the males are more slender and have more a straight structure if you look at them from the top. I've heard people say the males look like airplanes almost, since the fins pop out on the side more. In mature specimens the females are substantially larger (broader), very noticeable.

      @@freshflowaquatics thank you! I’ve been wondering ever since I got “her” if she was a male or female, but I named her Thor and my Loach Loki😂 the name is stuck now

    Also goldfish! You cannot keep them with goldfish I just found out…

    • @freshflowaquatics
      @freshflowaquatics  Před 15 dny +2

      I didn't know that, thanks for sharing! Is it cause the goldfish will try to eat them and get spined in the throat?

    • @slug3542
      @slug3542 Před 15 dny +1

      @@freshflowaquatics yeah and depending on the size of the goldfish they could choke on the smaller fish and well…die. I’m not 100% sure it’s true but when I had my Cory’s in the same tank with the goldfish they were very stressed cause the goldfish were chasing them away from the bottom of the tank.
