This movie literally gave me the courage and strength to run away from an abusive home as a kid. I remember the scene where Michael runs away to be with his dad as what was going through my head. This movie helped save my life.

Dude, thanks for sharing! I too grew up watching this classic! And later on in life, became a victim of Parental Alienation. I had ti fight (VERY) hard for my kid, and was granted full custody! Yesterday we watched this classic together and I told’him: This is our movie!

My Sister was in the Movie. She was the North American Woman's Arm Wrestling Champion that year. Her name was Theresa Bender (we would insert "arm" before Bender) like her middle name. Sadly, she passed away a few years ago. RIP Terry Arm Bender! She was my favorite sister! (I had 3). I remember it was filmed at the Las Vegas Hilton. Brigitte Nielsen was married to Silvester Stallone at the time. They kept leaving (I assume to their room) and returning in new outfits. They did this a lot!!!
My stepmom was an extra in this movie when they filmed it in Las Vegas.

Saw this in the theater with my dad. One of my favorite Stallone films.
I was there that day when this movie " Over The Top" was being filmed. I met Styvester Stallone here in Claremont, California .And got to see the Graduation Scene getting filmed
The scenes was filmed May 1986 at the Claremont Colleges.Sly is a really nice guy .I shook his hand got his autograph and got my picture next to Slyvester Stallone.
Rocky was working out in his movie set trailer with weights when I met him.
You know, I know Over The Top wasn't considered a great movie by most but I love the movie! I love the storyline! Great film in my opinion! Great to see the filming locations!

I know how it sounds but this was the first movie I ever remember watching from 2 years old. My favorite movie all through my single digits growing up without a father I always wanted a dad like Sylvester Stallone and many times as a boy I would imagine what advice him/Lincoln Hawk would give me and it really gave me strength when I didnt have any from anywhere else. I know how cheesy/stupid this sounds but it really helped me as a child.
I love this movie. A good message with a great way of telling it. Love Stallone. Love the semi, his cap, the arm wrestling, the story, the kid, everything. Stallone writes with such passion. Rocky and this are my favorites by him.
my sister moved to just outside vegas about 2 years ago. last year, i was going to drive to the starting point in colorado with my son, go to los angeles to all of those locations you just showed to us, and conclude my road trip by walking down the path of the hilton where lincoln and mike get in the new truck. and then of course, i'd drive to my sister's house to visit. but then ...covid. maybe one day i can plan it again. thanks for the great vid. hope the olympic cafe is still around by the time i get to do this journey. also... over the top soundtrack was like $7 on amazon when i bought it. best road trip music ever.
I’m a sucker for a Sylvester Stallone movie! Rambo, Rocky, Cobra... and yes, Over the Top. It may not have done well in the theatres, but it made me smile! I love when you place movie stills in the vlog while you are at a location! Thanks for the memories!

Actually there were 4 trucks. 2 of them were sold and used in the movie messenger of death, the third one was modified and repainted for the movie tank girl and the last one was the cab bought by the guy on the East coast.

Back in the day when that movie was new, the other kind of semi trucks "cabovers" were common & I use to see them everywhere I went, but nowadays I very rarely see any of them out on the roads.
The White Freightliner truck was not actually on loan. The design of the hawk was designed by Sylvester Stallone himself. The truck was an actual prize that was given to the real winner of the armwrestling competition. I was hired as security for the Las Vegas filming location.

I was just about to go to bed. But soon as i saw the title no way was i gonna be able to sleep. My favorite movie of all time . Cool someone a'tleast found the cab to one of the trucks. Hopefully we can see it fixed up one day. They filmed the Arm Wrestling Championship during a real Competition. The Prize truck at the Arm Wrestling Championship was given away as part of the prize package to a trucker. Remember reading an entire article on it years back.Guy who owned it bought it from the Guy who Won it at the Championship . Believe he was some family member of the guy etc. Would love to see both those trucks again

4:47 Interestingly, the military academy INDOOR scenes were not filmed inside this building but were actually filmed inside of the Greystone Mansion in Beverly Hills. This is one of my favorite movies from my childhood. Enjoyed this video and seeing the various locations. 👍

Summit Crest Military Academy is actually Southern California Military Academy. The uniforms were all from our school in Signal Hill California.

Lived in Sylmar and ate at the Olympic Cafe many, many times with my family. 😁 Also at Pancake Heaven on Maclay Avenue and James on San Fernando Rd.
.my grandfather used to arm wrestle at the port when he fished. On an other side my dad was a 3x athletic in OTHER sports. . . Love and respect Stallone !
The location where Hank teaching Mike to drive the semi, they show them getting off the truck to switch seat and right after that, they film out of the windshield, that passed that area everyday, it in my town in Arizona

The White/GMC truck that was won at the end of the movie surfaced back in 2012 at an auction.
Also one of the Autocar trucks is or has been rebuilt...I last scene it on Facebook a few years back.

He was on Santana's Supernatural album. At about 1:50 in that vid he starts goin off!! Btw loved the Henry Ford and Hitsville vids.
