  • The Devialet Dione is an all-in-one Dolby Atmos 5.1.2 soundbar that costs a whopping S$3,790. That's a steep price that Devialet is asking for, but is it worth it?

Yes it is worth it... its Devialet (Its not for everybody). They always fix their software issues with updates, and they also have the ability to make it louder through software update. 🤷‍♂

What a weird comment - "Too tall when its placed upright" - It looks like it was not setup correctly? The standing configuration is supposed to be used only when mounting the Dione to the wall, because the sound is also being output from the bottom - when you put the Dione standing like that on the table half of the drivers facing down are covered by the table I think?

These reviewers suck! This soundbar is the second best on the market behind the Sennheiser ambeo. And a con for the price? How about you get what you pay for.......

It's all about the sound and not obsessing over needing to turn the orb manually! :)

It's a perfect soundbar, but the only reason I won't buy this is because of the single hdmi port, its a deal breaker..

    This review is too light
you focus on small details and forget the essential: the sound quality, especially when watching movies or series

    Thanks for the video.
Does the room correction allow you to apply filters on the frequencies that interest you the most?
I say this after making measurements with Room EQ Wizard and thus knowing the frequency response at our listening point.

Hi, my question is not on dione but phantom 2. I am planning to use phantom 2 as a subwoofer using its 3.5mm input. But devialet says there will be latency issues. How is that?

Unfortunately, can't reply that as we're not privy to the internal workings of the speakers... But that's certainly an odd reply, since I would expect wired connections to be more stable/less latency than a wireless connection.

Good day to all. For me, I have the Senheiser Ambeo with dual SVS PC 4000s... lets just say the sound is amazing. The Senheiser and SVS apps are so user friendly with easy EQ adjustments. We live in a residential neighborhood where my the bass from Amber and SVS can be "felt" on my neighbors walls. This is my honest opinion and we all have differnt sound preferences.

Is the “Orb” meant to be shifted frequently?

    • @Audiofied
      @Audiofied  Před 2 lety

Nope, only meant to be moved when you set up the soundbar, whether it's stood upright or down like we have it here

That's the thing with Dialet, it's more IOS friendly & less Android friendly. Even the phantoms so that's why I won't be buying their devices. I'm happy with my Sennheiser AMBEO which works perfectly on Android and always works with phone & addition of Chromecast is a plus.

I'm very disappointed about the dione! I returned it to the store after 2 weeks due to the bass issues. It's a shame that as a user you can't adjust anything with regard to the volumes, including the bass and center channel volume. The bass level suppresses the center channel and all sounds like one big bass mass! Not to mention the problem that the volume is very low on streaming services such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and Disney+ I had to turn the volume up to almost level "80/85" for a bit of volume in a 30 square meters room, really terrible! The store I bought it from was experiencing the same issues regarding the weak volume on streaming services. Regarding the Atmos sound/effect, it is also very disappointing and not really noticeable. DEVIALET! FIX THIS! 😬

Based on this review you need to do your homework on space and compatibility of the soundbar.

hmmm, for AU $ 4K, I think I will pass on this I would rather stick with my fantastic sounding Yamaha YSP 5600bmk2 for half the price.
Once connected stays connected, and never had an issue dropping out of the connection.
Another deal-breaker for me (personally )
    1. no remote don't like the idea of the mobile app option only
    2. single HDMI
The thing I like is the design, however, it is a dust magnet with that orb and concaved mounting (when installed horizontally )
Honestly, In this price bracket, I would rather cough up an extra 2K and invest in a more future-proof / versatile AVENTAGE RX-A8A 11.2 Channel AV Receiver.
