  • Changing the shape of a waveform such as a sine, triangle, sawtooth, or square wave could mean many things depending on the synthesizer you are using. In this video I talk about what it means to change the shape of certain standard waveforms and wavetables on the Novation Summit and Peak, while in the process building a patch I hope you will enjoy.

Even with so many sonic modulation possibilities, while at times; less is more. In life, sometimes an addition does not yield an improvement; but instead muddies the waters. Enjoyed the simplicity of the session. Thanks. Oh, you can't beat those maj7ths!

Well said! And I love a good major 7. Can't go wrong with an Alt V7 either though! :)

A good lesson , thank you.
You have a way of taking the fear out of touching that dial.
And I never knew a sine wave was a synthetic sound.
I just finished off my Trax in Ableton.
I can spent all weekend with my new Summit 🙂

Hi James. I'm pleased to have found your videos. Just bought a summit as my first synth - love the sound. Broke my wallet though and am pretty confused by the whole thing. Don't suppose you do one to one lessons at all - even as a one off? A bit of a hand holding exrcise and introduction to it I guess. At a cost obviously. Couldn't find another way to message you

Hey Steve, thanks for the comment! Could I send you a message through Facebook or something? Would be happy to do a walkthrough of some kind.
