- How I Beat The ELITE Vortex - 33.5 MILLION HP! BTD6 / Bloons TD 6 - normal vortex was a bit of a cakewalk, but what about the elite version? This one has over 10 times the HP of the normal at the final stage, as well as much stronger stuns! Here's what I did to take it down.

Honestly I think the real reason for the shield is to prevent p-spike instakills
@@beefkidgaming2368 it’s kind of a kill hundreds of birds with one stone situation, because it obviously affects the perma-spikes but the mad missiles are literally coded to visually bounce off
Vortex have a reflect shield that cannot stun and stun towers
@@chucklingcharcoal but so is every projectile, the sun temple also had it bouncing off. i think it actually changes their trajectory, so they could still hit other bloons after bouncing off, and its not just a visual animation
12:36 FYI: Isab, there is now a hotkey for heroes now. If you have already placed your hero you can hit the "u" key at anytime and you will jump to your hero. Really helpful for micro!!

Geraldo’s pickle jar is really good on stuff like overdrive. Extra damage in exchange for a little fire rate on high fire rate towers is usually a huge dps increase
Also makes alch buffs more effective on your towers, since the slower attack speed makes it get used up slower

Fun fact: The boat paragon's passive boat pull ability still works even when stunned
I feel like some of the easiest Maps like logs and cubism might actually be kinda hard with the T5 stum since it Will most of the time be close enough to stum your damagedealers. Compared to something like alphin run and Winther park
That is interesting, I never thought of it like that. Maybe NK will try something out on a longer map.

I feel like the map you fight it on will be a big factor too on how difficult it is, if the track overlaps a lot so that it might always be able to stun your towers
so in a way, easier maps actually make this boss harder... this is really unique from the other bosses in terms of difficulty

seeing the bloons and moabs go really fast scared both of us into getting a permaspike lol

when farm paragon comes out it is gonna be in every boss game
I found using all 3 t5 snipers to work pretty well. Cripple moab + elite defender perma brewed. Then elite sniper for money and the attack speed buff. And free damage.

vortex is really well made imo, no stupid healing gimmick like lych, no lag go brr like bloonarius, the shield gimmick being on a pulse and not on the skull or something is cool, the stun is only when a skull is reached and if a tower is in range, and it’s decently long too for such a short range stun
speeding up bloons is a cool passive ability that doesn’t feel too overbearing

I tried using elite defender for the first 2 bosses of normal mode, which worked pretty well too
ngl I just did the same crap I do every single other boss run, except I didn't have to worry all that much about hordes of bloons so i could let my boss poppers do their thing
Navarch of the seas is probably the best paragon for the job cuz he has planes that do decent damage while be can remain back and not get stunned.
The 4-2-0 dartling gunner with 3-0-0 alch buff can solo tier one because it isn't blocked by the wind shield, for tiet two you need 3 dartlings
1 minute and im already prepared for isab to use a broken geraldo strategy
Shield should have longer duration and knockback should be less, but not removed, because considering how fast Vortex goes, without the stun, even on logs it may be able to escape.
I think the knockback should be the same, but he should move much faster. That way he can counter the special placements of monkeys outside the stun range
gonna be honest: i had to use 3 paragons and even then he almost got to the end. my man Vortex is very difficult but very fun. More difficult than Bloonarius imo. 11/10 boss this is how you port a boss from BMC to BTD6
From what I can tell, the 3 tier 5 snipers do great damage to vortex. I prefer the 205, 502, and 250 versions for max votes damage.
It seems like 205 sniper is best for tier 1 (with the NFT)

0-0-4 ninja is enough for this map. verrrrry cheap too

Tip you want something for the end like pspikes or r.o.d. Because even paragons get stunned

Vortex is the most fun tough
Keep in mind that Cubism is arguably the top 3 easiest map in Btd6 (after Log and Resort). Not only that the path is really long, it has a lot of great positions for towers, allowing you to farm more in early game and place your towers out of the stun range.
Let's see how strong it actually is on a more challenging maps like Streambed or Cracked.
Pretty sure the patch notes mentioned that he could remove track objects as well as projectiles with his burst of wind.
I don't know if you know this but, you can use the upgraded (or non upgraded not sure) visibility potion for the villages as it gives more range (atleast the upgraded one) and that makes it very viable for not using an engineer.
My first time trying in expert I just used a vengeance temple and the paragons and beat it pretty easily. Honestly in my opinion the easiest boss so far.
I don't think it was the easiest, I think it is just that Lych and Bloonarius gave us so much boss experience that we can basically shred. If Vortex was the first or second it would probably be a little different of a story

geraldo made this boss so free for me i wasnt even paying attention to the game but quincy nft gave me turbo money and sharpened tack zone destroyed second tier so i just farmed 2 million dollars

imo vortex is a bit too easy after bloonarius and lych, but i love how the tier one of elite is a perfect use of 2-0-5 sniper
it also could be because it's a pretty easy map
should let it teleport forward at every skull instead of backwards. As right now every phase is self defeating for the boss rather than dangerous like Lych or bloonarius
@@luiousy7329 Yeah cause that shield doesn't last long enough for it to close the gap it made for itself. maybe just don't have it go backwards or at least half as far as it currently does and then he's fine

You can put temple at the bottom right corner of the top triangle with a snowstorm and it'll also benefit from carrier AND it will be out of range of the stun

Honestly, you can just ignore the stun from vortex. I just went for all 4 paragons in the middle of the map, and it worked perfevtly fine, shredded the elite t5 before it got anywhere near halfway across the map
Overall the boss seems very easy. The stun would be strong if at least vortex woulf spawns some other bloons or didnt jump back. But since he jumps back, by the time he reaches the same spot again the stun is already over
@@shaydenprime5282 yeah, and if it was a perma stun then that would be devastating, as then you would be forced to get mostly military towers, and place them far away from the track, and that would take up farming space
I think people expect too much from the boss tbh. From all the experience we have playing Bloonarius and Lych, this boss seems much easier because we know the strategy to beating bosses in general. I think the shield could stay up a little longer but other than that this boss is about as hard as the other two, which I think it should be. You also have to remember that this is on cubism medium with all paragons allowed, which is pretty much as easy as bosses get in terms of map and difficulty.
Yeah if the towers aren’t immediately next to each other they won’t be stunned for long anyway
@@shaydenprime5282 To be fair though, Cubism is literally the easiest map for bosses. I reckon Vortex may be more troublesome than Lych/Bloonarius on other maps.

ISAB berserker brew gives range.
You can put the antibloon on the outside range of the t4 temple whilst its buffed, get it for cheaper, then sell the alch and let the buff wear off. Cheaper antibloon and it wont sac it.

Isab you can get every tear 100 paragon in solo I did it today you just have to buy and re sell the new hero and you need 60 to get degree 100

I got to elite t5, but I had already sold all my farms to get a deg. 40 dart paragon for t4, so I barely managed to get 2 skulls before dying. Did all I could and farmed like a madman the last few rounds, but nothing could be done. So close
Vortex stuns towers for different durations based on where they are when he goes back.
I used to only be able to do Normal bosses. This week was the closest ive ever gotten to beating an elite boss bloon. I died to teir5 because I didn’t farm hard enough

Along with the periodic wave Vortex does(for one, perma-spike will only deplete to one skull before all the stack disappears, so ranked will be interesting)

The first time i beat elite vortex was with my friend in coop the first time we did it. Then I tried it again on my own and I did pretty good but I died with it on less than a million health it was very sad

Elite vortex was so stressful but me and my friend clutched up with a tsar bomb at the end when he got to abt 2.34k hp right at the exit rewards are pretty dope tho ngl
İ also beat elite vortex on adoras temple and MAN it was hard, i sweated so much that i turned into a water
fun fact: geraldo s ability reset thing also works for money making things like 0-4-0 druid
While probably not the best play money wise, Tack Zone plus sticky bomb perma locked it at the entrance, so the stun wore off by the time it got back to the tack zone for an easy tier 1
Similar price is 205 sniper which can do t1

The best defences (that I now of for elite)
Round 40 elite defender
Round 60 mad
Round 80 dart paragon
Round 100 the dart paragon and a boomer paragon
Round 120 I think the lest is ninja, boat and dart paragon (I think that’s the cheapest)
It may not be perfect because it takes a while for just the test
0-0-4 ninja for round 40 is enough and one more tower for normal bloons. This is applicable to ANY boss.
I usually do ninja tier 5 bottom path for tier 1 bosses, M A D for tier 2 bosses, and after that I can build what ever. choices being paragons, the vengeful sun god, or a combination of any tower that has great MOAB popping power. Either way by tier 3 I have money to buy almost anything. tier 4 is a fever dream of setting up the strongest defense possible. tier 5 is SLEPT on, cause late game is boring and I practically finished the game by tier 4. I realistically leave the game running in the background and wait till it finishes.
No matter what my strategy for every game has been the same. Greed hard as early as possible to get a monkeyopolis by round 40 or less then greed rush monkeynomics. If monkeyopolis is banned, I go for early monkeynomics. I have 2x cash mode and monkey knowledge enabled to make this easier on me. i dont need 2x cash mode, but monkey knowledge makes a pre round 40 monkeyopolis possible because I need a free dart monkey.(proving a free 000 dart monkey is op)

The Quincy NFT solos all the stages because nothing gets past his resonable prices.
i used vtsg boat dart and boomer paragon for main damage and low level ninja paragon in a corner for the full range 100k sticky bomb

As someone who has beaten his first elite and pretty well (in my opinion) excluding round 60 where I wanted money for mad and megalopolis. I feel I could suggest towers needed for elite
Tier 1 2-0-5 sniper
Tier 2 1-5-0 dartiling
Tier 3 4-1-0 super (in somewhat aggressive placement and magic primary support)
Tier 4 boat paragon (I got mine to lvl 42 with geraldo and 2 extra pools)
Tier 5 previous boat paragon, vengeful, and another paragon (I got ninja cause didn't want another dart paragon)
I would suggest farming hard, I had by tier 4 around 1 mega, 1 central and about 12 brfs and I had plenty for paragons, but if you are lazy and go bottom path, I would suggest going merchant men (for paragon and extra eco). Also, always buy totems when in stock, I don't care if you wont make paragon, they severely assist in paragon making (as a well placed lvl 42 paragon can solo vortex). Besides that I feel (even though I have never fought the other elites) this is the easiest boss due to not being a tank or punishing buffs, and due to such, make way more cheaper options to beat
I mever considered getting a temple for defence, it's actually a good idea it's strong and cheeper than a dart paragon

I beat the regular difficulty with Striker Jones, and Anti-Bloon, and 87 middle path bomb shooters (all alc-d up and next to top path villages of course.) Oh and a fart paragon
tbh vortex is not too hard, especially when using Geraldo since he has multiple items to help out
when doing elite usually I do the same strat as bloonarius for vortex cuz unlike Lych, vortex doesn't have that special punishment if you buff monkeys or sell, and that shield is just too short. So an agro strat will most likely work if played properly.

Psa: if you have a main dps tower, sell it right before the boss reaches the skull to negate the electric shock, then place it back
probably doesn't work for tier 5 because your main tower probably costs a million dollars

t5 elite was really hard , i also used vtsg but it took me 3 tries to figure out the strat . cool challange tho . also tip for beating it , the best power for beating it is time stop
