  • After Harvesting your wheat some people are picky enough to want to remove Chaff, worms, insects, and other debris before they grind the wheat into flour, this is how it is done. (Or at least how it was done 150 years ago.)

Love that you're using the old stuff and showing how it's used.
    Thanks for your video.

I'm always amazed when I think about the amount of technology, time and work that goes into a flap jack

I had a really nice wheat fan with all kinds of screens and we used it to clean some grain. Had it in the shed and a man that helped me at the time on the weekends square baling hay wanted it and I wasn't using it anymore so I sold it to him for $20 and he said he was going to restore it. I guess he did. He moved away and I lost track of him. Mine had a hopper on the top and you could shut it off if you needed to. Thanks for sharing the video and bringing back memories of my younger days.

Is that grain from the combined? The combined doesn’t clean it up?

Hey Donald! Yes, that's from the combine, it will always need a little more cleaning before grinding flour.

Very cool, we call that a fanning mill up here. I have an old clipper around here somewhere. The young lady is not afraid of splinters in her feet? Thanks for this video.
    Best regards from Indiana.

Nothing wrong with that. I believe I was too. Sure is a little slice of heaven you have there. Looks like nice country.

Ours was a little more fancy than that. Ours would dump the grain in gunny sacks.

As much as l'd like to help you I really don't have the time to do that.I'm sure you can Google Winnower and find lots of info about it. Good luck!
