    An essential that I always pack is a plastic bag for my dirty laundry. I don't like the cotton laundry bags because they can transfer the smell of my stinky socks to my clean clothes :D Therefore I use plastic. I do reuse the bag later on, of course :-)

    Loved the video. My tip is to pack a separate lightweight pouch or small bag (I used a small packing cube) for use while seated on the plan as your carry on luggage will be in the overhead storage. I include my Kindle, phone, earphones, charger cable, lip balm, moisturiser, protein bar, tissues and reading glasses. For long haul flight I include ear plugs too. I put this pouch into seat storage under the tray table, so I can access all these little things without opening my main bag each time.

      Shouldn't this be common sense? Is common sense common anymore!?

    I have been traveling across country a lot due to a family emergency and one thing I have started to pack is a little bag that I keep by my bed that has all of the things I like to use before/at bedtime: hand lotion, ear plugs, and eye mask. Everything is in a pretty pencil case that my daughter gave me as a gfit. This has been such a comforting and useful thing to have!

    Not nessesarily a packing tip, but a travel tip is to bring earplugs. Not just for the flight, but for sleeping. Wether you're in a hotel or camping, you never know who your neighbours are, plus it's an easy way to retreat if you feel your senses are overwhelmed.

    • @briannab5296
      @briannab5296 Před rokem

      I also like using earplugs outside in cold weather. When my inner ears get cold i end up with severe earaches.

    Quick tip about the water bottle: it doesn’t have to be empty to go through TSA security-it just can’t be liquid. So I like to fill it half way and freeze it beforehand. This way when I refill past security, I have ice cold water. 😊

    • @kibbylollabee1259
      @kibbylollabee1259 Před rokem +5

      I have seen this tip before. But as we are advised to get to the airport two or three hours early, how is that bottle still frozen?

    • @wandervingjews7520
      @wandervingjews7520 Před rokem +4

      @@kibbylollabee1259 it only has to be frozen when you get to security-how long do you spend at the airport before that?
      And you can always pour out the little bit that has defrosted in the meantime-and if you think it’s going to be a long time between your freezer and security, you can always fill and freeze the whole bottle and just have more to pour out.
      Also-if you’re traveling with small children, you can get all sorts of liquids through security (yogurt, juice, water, milk, etc).

    If traveling to another country, consider bringing a water filtering bottle or system. Life Straw is probably the most common/ easily accessible and they make fillable bottles now but there are a lot of options. I've heard some stories about some places, and its better than having to buy bottled water constantly.

    Great video, Ashlynne!! One of my travel hacks that I discovered I expectedly are using vacuum sealing clothing bags I found at the dollar tree. Last month, I visited family in Ohio. I was traveling from Florida, and was flying Frontier. I only brought a backpack because I was only there for 2 days.
    My family surprised me with a bridal shower and I received tons of clothes and pjs. I was not expecting that at all!! I’m so grateful but I was freaking out on how I could travel with all of it.
    My mom bought the vacuum sealed bag and it fit all my stuff in my backpack. I was shocked! Of course, I don’t do this all the time but in a pinch I thought I’d let someone know! 🥰

My favorite packing tip comes from the backpacking/camping world, and it's stuffsacks :) I have one from Sea to Summit that compresses to the size of a football, and in it currently I have 2 sweaters, a skirt, a flannel, and a light cardigan. I like to travel during summer bc it’s usually quite warm so I can pack thinner/smaller clothes. I pack 5 shirts (3 spaghetti strap vests and 2 shirts that double as pyjamas and day shirts), 2 denim shorts and 2 leggings (can be worn as pyjamas, with shorts or stand alone), 7 pairs of underwear, 7 pairs of socks for, 2-3 flannels and wear a hoodie tied around my chest and do laundry after I wear my clothes and hang them to dry. I live in the uk so weather can be unpredictable and the hotel rooms get very hot in summer so they usually dry within a day or two
