Vridolin - Film of the East German Documentary series "Das Fenster" (1991)

The other apprentices call him the professer - not because of his knowledge but of his questions. He's not really an intellectual, they say, but certainly a bit crazy like artists are supposed to be. In some classes at the technical college he seems to be the only one who actually wants to know something. Teaching him is fun - and work!
Vridolin, who once studied composition at university, is the oldest student at the Technical College in Weilheim, Bavaria.
When he was forty, he deceided to start an apprenticeship as a technician for bicycles. Is this just the spleen of an artist or the price you have to pay for living unconventionaly?
During the shooting of the film, Vridolin Enxing has to undergo a risky surgery on his eyes and takes this as a cause for reflecting his life as well as his hopes and ambitions for the future. "Vridolin" is a documentary about the former lead guitar player of the German rock band "Floh de Cologne" - Vridolin Enxing - and his attempt to simply do something different.
