    My favorite IDE is graph paper. I have 128 different colored pencils. Each of which representing one character. I color in each square with my pencil to represent the character that I need, photoscan the page, And then run it through a piece of software that costs $31,765/year and that will convert my pdf to a .c file which I then run through notepad++. It is a very effecient, cost-effective, and easy-to-use/do workflow!

    This reminds me of one of the first jobs I had out of school. It was doing assembly language programming on one of the early IBM PCs and the only tools I had available for editing were edlin and Microsoft Word for DOS. So I used word because, well, literally anything was better than edlin. Word wanted to always save everything in word format, so every time I forgot to explicitly save as text, it would cause the assembler to spew out an impressive number of errors.

    I think the best IDE is a piece of paper, you write your code on it with any tool and any style you want, then you take a picture of it, plug it in to a convolutional neural network to convert it to text, compile and run. It is by far the best method!

      And then you don't even need a separate neural network to convert it to text because that's already included into the IDE.

    some variables can be literal plants, now this is what i call object oriented programming.
    wandering dogs or sims may cause bugs by digging holes or laying on parts of the code thus obscuring it, but this is a feature, that can also be used for documentation. you may use simple cheat codes to make animals playable, and you place holes in front of the lines you wanna comment out. easy!

    One thing you can do in Word if you have some text and you want to replace some character with new lines. For example, given the string:
    &hello=1&world=true
    Paste the text into Word. Ctrl+H for find and replace - put & as the find and ^l as the replace (lowercase L)
    Output:
    hello=1
    world=true
    You can also use ^t to replace with tabs. For example you could replace = with ^t. Then you can copy all the text and paste it neatly into Excel as 2 rows with 2 columns.
    Notepad++ can do this too - replace with
    or \t if you choose "Extended" search mode, but Word is something non-programmers can use if you don't have Notepad++ but have Word, or if you're helping someone else at their computer to format some data they copied from somewhere to put it into Excel etc.

    The thing is, my high school’s Computer Science courses back in like 2017-2019 used Microsoft Word as an IDE. No joke. Either that or you can use Google Docs for group projects. It was purely out of laziness and ignorance as our computer science teacher doesn’t actually know a thing about computer science, he majored in physics, and our school must’ve thought “good enough.” He was literally learning computer science as he was teaching us, and frankly, he probably did one or two half-baked lessons throughout the semesters. But with all that freedom though, the real passion ones excelled. Heck, I even found a loophole to get free Netflix for a while through a cookie’s vulnerability on their website. We sort of migrated from what was suppose to be a simple Python course on paper into a C++ one since our teacher did not understood the curriculum well and just asked what language we wanted to learn lol. For those less responsible though, it was just an easy marks class, basically everyone got 100s in it, but only a few actually deserved it. I will say, those few I know went on to become engineers during university later on and incredibly skillful folks in software. So it wasn’t a bad trade-off. It was all up to the student, which I love the idea of.
