      :) As someone who to this day regrets Buddy's demise I share your feelings really. I'm in a band and we play the song Tribute to Buddy Holly by Mike Berry every gig.

    "We didn't call them singles in those days, did we." I don't know what they called them in England, but we called them 45's in The States. - I just love this English sitcom! It comes from an era I lived and loved; *The Groovin' 1970's!* (*was the concert that Bob gave donning the schoolboy cap at 4:10 a tribute to Angus Young?)

    • @2011littlejohn1
      @2011littlejohn1 Před 2 lety +1

      Not 45's those were 78's. They would be worth a fortune now especially the Buddy Holly ones. I would estimate the box would be worth a few thousand. To this day I mourn Buddy Holly.

      @@2011littlejohn1 What were 78s, the ones in the show?

    • @2011littlejohn1
      @2011littlejohn1 Před 2 lety +2

      @@MrMenefrego1 Yes large discs made of easily broken stuff called Shellac I think. They were singles played at 78 R.P.M. I've looked up the current value and each would be worth £50 - £60 pounds nowadays so there was thousands there if he had every Buddy Holly single and all the rest of the names he mentioned. As a collection I think it would be priceless and remembering the personality of the character they would be in mint condition. Also the comic books annuals he mentioned would be collector's items nowadays.

  • @julianmeek2156
    @julianmeek2156 Před 2 lety +4

    Rediscovering this makes me realize just how dated and wince-worthy some of this is. Yet at the same time the skill of the writing transcends this. Thelma gets on my nerves but of course that is partly her job!
