- Carlos Pérez Siquier (Almería, 1930) is considered one of the pioneers of the photographic avant-garde in Spain and National Photography Prize in 2003. He is a Supernumerary Academician of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of Our Lady of Sorrows in Granada.

I sincerely thank the author of this series of Great Photographers. It is the most beautiful, instructive and interesting series on the Net. No words, large high definition images that tell the essence of the work of these masters. All accompanied by pleasant music that accompanies the vision. And it should not be overlooked that some lesser-known authors, even if very important, reach a vast audience of photography lovers. Thank you very much
I visited the exhibition of his lifetime work held in our hometown, Almería, just yesterday. It was such an impact to witness through Perez Siquier’s photographs how my parents’ and grandparents’ lived in La Chanca before being able to move to newly built government public housing, and his drive to advance photography as a whole in Spain by founding the collective and magazine AFAL (Agrupación Fotográfica Almeriense) in 1956.
I feel truly fortunate I was born and grew here with such a figure to look up to. If you are ever around Almería, the Centro Perez Siquier in Olula del Rio preserves the entirety of his negatives, sign works, magazines, even some of his personal effects; and you can book guided tours in advance, no entry fee.
Wonderful channel! Thanks for opening my eyes to many photographers I've not discovered.

Oui, la série Great Photographers est formidable. Elle donne à voir les œuvres de photographes exceptionnels. Je maintiens, contre l’avis de certains, qu’il lui manque un véritable travail d’édition. Qui, quoi, quand, où, comment, pourquoi sont les bases de toute photographie qui se veut autre chose qu’une expression artistique éthérée.
Il suffi de faire des recherches personnelles après avoir regardé la vidéo qui est un vrai cadeau à nous tous.
