This is the longplay of the game Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins, released for Game Boy Classic in 1992! In addition to being the sequel to the previous game, it also marks the first appearance of Wario, a sort of evil alter-ego of Mario and that would also be present in many other games in the Mario series.
The plot, which immediately follows that of the first game, consists of Mario returning to his castle after rescuing Princess Daisy, only to find that it has been taken over by an enemy, Wario, while Mario was in Sarasaland. The 6 Golden Coins were spread throughout Mario Land, and Mario must retrieve these coins in order to access the castle and defeat Wario, reclaim his castle, and restore order to Mario Land.
This game represented an immense advance compared to its predecessor, since in addition to the normal phases there are also secret phases, the scenarios and characters are much more detailed and, in addition to the form of Super Mario and Fire Mario, there is the form Bunny Mario, which allows our hero gliding in the air as the player repeatedly presses the jump button, an extremely useful skill in this game.

This brings back so many memories especially the music. I was born in 1984. My Dad was a very conservative Christian who said video games and rock music were the devil and banned me from them. It took me three years of begging my Dad and finally for Christmas under the Christmas tree there was a GameBoy with Super Mario 2 The 6 Golden Coins. To this day it was the best present I’ve ever gotten and made me feel like maybe my Dad really did love me.

One of the best games for the original gameboy and definitely 1 of the best Mario titles. So much better than the first Mario Land game too.
Arguably my favorite Mario game and watching this brings the nostalgia back for sure.
This game is just too damn good and fun i love how it combines all the elements of Super Mario 1, 2, 3 and Super Mario World in one magnificent game I used to have this game back when I was a little kid when it first came out and it got stolen from me when I was in a Day Care Center, nobody fessed up the teachers told me to calm down cause i threatened all the kids i was gonna pound them to a pulp if they don't give it back and to this day im still furious about it, lol I know you're out there you bastard i want my game back!!!
This game always seemed like it was a game that should have been on a console instead of game boy. So advanced compared to other game boy games.
Just beat the game the other day. It’s definitely one of my top 10 favorite Mario games :D

Played it as a kid and never beat it. It got lost over time. Picked it up now after 2 decades and went right back to it. The castle is still a pain and I never managed to get to Wario as a kid I think. I managed this time at least and could beat him after about 40 lost lives. xD Thank god for the carrot. It helped me make it through most of the level. It is a problem that there is no checkpoint, but I beat it just now and now I am at peace. After 2 decades I finally beat Wario's sorry ass! ^^
Heck yeah, the Mario Land series is underappreciated for sure.
I've been playing this game since it originally came out and 30 years later, never knew Tree Zone had a bonus level.

This and Donkey Kong Land are the first couple of games I remember having on Gameboy as a kid. This brought back so many memories haha

What should the stage number be in your file save when you 100% the game? I read there are 32 stages and the furthest I was able to get the # of stages completed was 31. I got to all the 6 secret stages (the 2 in the Pumpkin Zone, 1 in the Macro Zone, 1 in the Turtle Zone, 1 in the Space Zone, and the 1 in the Tree Zone). Not sure what I'm missing if anything.

bro i was blessed when i got this as a kid but this man just stepped on my younger self i was struggling to beat it all and one day when i got all the special coins to open the door all my stuff was gone and deleted i had nothing and needed to start over so what took me like almost a month to beat this guy did it in an hour but still props on doing so

Not enough people remember this game. Real shame since it's one of the best 2D Mario games. The level design is by far some of the best in the series, probably the best 2D Mario has seen prior to Wonder.
One thing I don't understand tho is how there's Koopas in this game without Bowser. Maybe they left his troops for Wario's. Top 10 anime betrayals amirite??

My Favourite Gameboy Game Of 2017
Everyone says this game is one of the best gameboy games ever but I remember being creeped the fuck out by the music/sound effects and enemies/bosses.
This game, and the Super Mario Land trilogy in general have such a different tone from the rest of the series, though that's mostly because Shigeru Miyamoto wasn't the producer on the Land trilogy like he usually is on console Mario titles
This game, these memories... Of... Despair, hate, destruction, fear and anxiety... The wale that ate all the divers, the bird just defending his egg brutally murdered, the alien trying to seduce you... All that... I just can't. My PTSD is returning

I remember in Space Zone, if you had the carrot/rabbit power up, you can kinda of like “float” off the edge of anything cliff by holding the A button. I wanna say the other power ups did it too but definitely the carrot/rabbit. Does anyone else remember discovering this?

I love this game, just bought both super Mario land and super Mario land 2 for $25 (not each, for the 2)
I got this game new in 1995 (I think it was 95 or 96) for $15 new. I remember not finishing it and getting busy due to college and the next time I picked it up decades later the file saves were messed up. I deleted them all & it fixed the issue. Last year I started playing it again & beat it for the 1st time. Trying to get it 100% done now. I beat it and have 31 stages listed in the file save despite doing all 6 secret levels (Mario Zone has none, Pumpkin has 2). Not sure if it's supposed to give you a 32 or not.
