3 of 4 of our cats love it. Play with the the catnip toys, rub on it, and toss it about. The 4th cat, grabs the catnip toy and growls at all the others. I call him my "mean drunk". We now avoid letting him have catnip.

One of our cats, Alice, became very defensive/hostile when given catnip. We never showered her in it, but once she caught wind that their was catnip about, it was all hers. She'd attack anyone or anything that got close while she was rolling around. She was a dork though.

My cat started out with catnip...then he got into fermented fruits. He started to associate with stray cats and they introduced him to Rabies. That's when we had step in and do an intervention. He forgot that we love him so much partly due to the rabies.
One of our cats loves catnip, the way he acts after rolling around in some is closer to MDMA than anything. He goes from very standoffish and wary, to being very affectionate with our other animals in a way we've never seen before. It's quite fun to watch.

Havenât been able to find catnip in Spain, thereâs only âcat grassâ thatâs actually regular edible grass for cats that grow from seeds and soil in the container itâs sold. I usually drink valerian infusions before going to bed and I discovered my cats got high like with catnip, so I usually let them play with the used tea bag or even the tea bag paper and they have a lot of fun! Probably a cheap substitute that both of you will end up using.

My cat would pee after being exposed to loose catnip. Catnip toys were okay. But loose catnip ALWAYS made him pee on the bed/floor/couch/wherever.

But again, start small, gauge how your cat reacts to it. Most cats handle it just fine.
