Utah really made a statment
We love him here in Tampa and I know Utah will love him too.
Wow!!!! A blockbuster trade indeed!!!! Great pick-up for Utah....a dynamic young top pair "D" who'll anchor their "D" for the foreseeable future.
You might see some criticism of Sergachev, but I can tell you he's a great all around two way D and in an increased role with a good DFD partner he will shine. His development in Tampa was hindered being behind Hedman and Mcdonagh, but he's still only 26 and can grow into a top pairing defenseman for Utah.

@@Wayf4rerExcellent analysis🎯👍! Utah get an immensely talented player for their initial season and beyond, and the Lightning greatly help their overall salary management/cap flexibility situation going forwards AND reel in a very respectable haul from Utah, in return.
Long term, I think this trade will definitely be a win-win one for both teams.

Utah has salary!
You could make the argument that a really good move might have been moving Hedman instead of Sergachev, to save money and get younger. But the Bolts obviously value their leadership group.
Tampa Bay got good mileage out of Sergachev. It was all upside after stealing him from Montreal in one of the worst trades of the past 10 years.
As a lifelong Utah fan, I really hope they pick up Marner. Even if they have to vastly overpay ;0
