It was really a fantastic video. I loved the content you shared. It gave me a great insight into the process and the difference between a Long Term visa and a residence permit.
When I apply for my spouse Long term visa then is my proof of income (last 3 months) enough or do I need to show a bank statement?

Thank you so much for the detailed explanation! I’ve got a question:
I’ve been living here based on the employment (I have an employee card) for over 6 months now, and my husband got a long term visa for a family reunification just now that is valid for one year. Is he eligible to apply for a residence permit for family reunification straight away when he comes to Czech Republic, or does he need to wait for some time, since I’ve been already living here for 6 months? I got an information that he needs to wait for another 6 months before applying from another agency, but that sounds a bit odd.

    Hi Jan,
Thank you very much for the detailed information as you always do. I have a question and I would be very appreciated if you you could answer.
I am blue card holder in CZE and the validity is expired in 07.06.2023. My family recently came here under family reunification visa and they have visa validity until 07.06.2023 together with mine. Naturally, I have to extend both my blue card validity and family residence permit at the same time. As you might know, I can apply my blue card extension not earlier than 120 days before the validity of my blue card. My question is, should we both apply blue card extension and family residence permit at the same time? Or, since the family residence time period depends on my blue card validity, should I first apply my blue card extension first? All these have longer times for approval we probably have troubles with time limitations. As a second, what happens if the family reunification visa expires during the family residence permit application? You know there is a deadline period like 180 days for Blue Card Holders so it could easily be expired during the application of residence permit in CZE. Do they have to go back to origin country before the visa expires? You can easily see how I am confused regarding exactly when I should apply.
    Thank you very much
    Merry Christmas

Hire us to take care of all your extensions and you do not have to worry at all :) To answer your question, you should all apply at the same time (say 80 days prior expiration) and if the process takes longer than when your cards expire, you can get bridge visas and stay here legally until approval :)

Hello Jan, sorry for the late comment. Just now saw this video. I have some questions.
I am in Czech Republic with a long term visa and i am working for a software industry. I can apply dependant visa (long term visa) for her through my company. My wife wishes to relocate to Czech Republic and work here. She is also a software engineer.
From the video i understand she cannot work with a long term visa but can only relocate.
You also said long time residence permit will take longer time (upto 270 days).
    So, following are my questions.
    1) Can my wife come to Czech Republic with a dependant visa (long term visa) and get an employee card and work for a software industry from here?
    2) The requirement for me is, my wife has to work in czech republic as soon as possible. So, what other better options will you suggest me in this scenario?

    • @jankalina-CzechVisaExpert
      @jankalina-CzechVisaExpert  Před 2 lety

Hi Izabella, all of you need to have the same address when your family is applying for their visas. So you have couple options:
      1. Get proof of accommodation from them from the dorm.
      2. Move somewhere else, change your address with the MOI and then use the address for your family.
      3. If you use the virtual proof of accommodation, the system works as in point #2, just keep in mind that using the virtual proof of accommodation is agains the law and if the MOI finds that out, they can deny all your visas for forging documents.

Hey! First of all, the official approval time for long-term residency for family reunification is 270 days so 4 months is far from the limit. Secondly, yes, it would be best if the MOI waited for your approval since then you could both have the same validity of cards. If he is approved now (before you) he can "only" get one year.

    Hi
I would like to thank you so much for your advice and help regarding this matter. I've a question please, is the family reunification long term visa called visa type D? Or both of the family reunification long term visa and also long term residence permit considered to be visa type D? Thanks in advance for your assistance

There are three things you can apply for:
      1. Short-term visa (for up to 90 days, "C" visa),
      2. Long-term visa (90 days to 1 year, "D" visa),
      3. Long-term residence permit.
I can share links to articles explaining the difference if you wish :)

@@jankalina-CzechVisaExpert thanks for your reply. Actually I feel like I am a bit confused cz I applied for a Family reunification visa (the form that I completed was entitled "long term stay visa") and I'm assuming the processing time would be maximum 90 days. But the problem is that the embassy at which I filed my visa application said that this will take 270 days. On the other hand, when my husband phoned the Ministry of Interior in the Czech Republic, they told him this is visa type D and the processing time is within 90 days. Which side should I believe please in such case? 🙏 Thanks again

@@safabougatfa1079 For sure not the Embassy :D They have nothing to do with approvals of the applications since Embassies fall under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs but all the approvals (of long-term options) fall under the Ministry of the Interior.

@@jankalina-CzechVisaExpert thanks for reassuring me. This means a lot to me. So do you think in my case since the application form that I applied within my documents is named "long term stay visa", does that mean the processing time of my application should be within maximum 90 days, am I right please? I applied on 11.1.2022 and so far no decision. I'm stressed out about this cz I planned all my job duties and my financial plans accordingly 😔.

@@safabougatfa1079 Yeah, the MOI should officially make the decision within 90 days then. Not saying that they always do (they just work at their own pace, sometimes faster, sometimes slower) but they officially should :)

I am a non-EU Erasmus student with Austrian Residence permit. My second year of study is in Czech republic. My wife also have a Austrian residence permit - Family reunification. Can I convert it into a Czech residence permit without visiting an Embassy. Also, can I work part-time?

You generally have two options (given you have a proper student residence permit) - stay here for up to a year under the AUT residence or apply for a Czech one at the territory of the CZE.

If I bring my spouse under the long term visa and after that apply for residence permit for him then how many days it will take to get a residence permit?
After 2 years of getting residence permit how can my spouse live with me for the long time as the residence permit has 2 years of validity? Please let me know. Thank you.

Hi! The official approval time of the residence permit is 270 days but if he is here under the long-tem visa already, it usually does not take much longer that 60 days. As for the validity, that is the same as with you - you can/have to extend your reaidence permit and so he can/has to extend his :) Please find more details in our article here: movetoprague.com/family-reunification-long-term-residence-permit/ or/and get in touch directly if something is not clear :)
