    Love the Free standing Rollers, no support, for smoothing out my spin and focus specifically on holding a staying steady line. Just cruise. No pressure. Otherwise the real work gets done on the rear wheel Resistance trainer. Nothing complicated.

    I own the Elite Tuo smart wheel-on trainer and are really satisfied with the product. Furthermore, DC Rainmaker checked this wheel-on trainer regarding the accuracy of the power measurements and found that it is pretty spot on.

      As I said, there are many variables. You change one, and it is no longer the case.

    • @floriansteinbauer58

      Yes, this is correct. And there are more variables if you use a wheel-on trainer, f.e. the right tire pressure is key..

    I have the Stages SB20 smart bike as well as Krietler rollers. I use the SB20 for Zwift, more convenient than a smart trainer as I just hop on and start training. Rollers to help maintain a smooth pedaling technique for when I do ride outside.

    Haven't tried rollers properly, but between direct drive and a dedicated bike (I actually have both) I prefer my tacx neo bike: More stability (no carbon flex and not the feeling that you're stressing too much the frame), always ready to use (no wheel change), can share with my wife, no drivechain maintenance, good to try different positions and very reliable power.

    • @ronykuba

      It’s surely a better option for most

    I've used rollers since i started cycling about 25 years ago, the only frustrating thing about them is the lack of resistance options. I currently have a set of elite arion with mag resistance but i wish they'd make rollers with fluid resistance.

    Great Video and very informative. I have a direct drive CycleOps, but after seeing the Wahoo bike, I'm going to have to re-evaluate my indoor setup. I always felt like the direct drive puts a lot of wear and tear on the the ceramic bearings and stresses the bottom bracket in general. I feel the dedicated bike is the way to go now. What are your thoughts on the potential wear and tear on bottom brackets and bearings that direct drive's can/could cause?

    • @ronykuba
      @ronykuba  Před rokem +1

      Thanks! If anything, the drivetrain wear is less severe indoors as it’s a clean environment.

    Hi Ronny, you said that smart functionalities in bike rollers don't work well - could you please expand a bit on this?
    I consider buying smart roller like Elite Nero to practice on TT bike during Fall and Winter, because direct drive trainers don't work well for me - I find it difficult to translate my trainer watts into road watts, and tend to be even 10% weaker on tarmac. I thought that riding on rollers is more similar to road with respect to muscles contractions, and that maybe riding on rollers would help me solve this issue.

    • @ronykuba
      @ronykuba  Před rokem

      That’s not going to work. The reason why your indoor power is low is the lack of cooling and oxygen. Rollers won’t solve that.

    • @TheXeroBand
      @TheXeroBand Před rokem

      @@ronykuba I know it's weird but it's the other way around in my case:) my indoor power is actually HIGHER than outdoor (tested on the same power meter Assioma).
      That's why I wanto buy rollers - I assume that I will build my FTP in winter months, and then in spring i will be able to generate same watts. Because now, after winter I have FTP 320 on trainer, and about 300 outdoor.
