Tours (pronounced [tuʁ] Écouter) is a town in the west of the France, on the banks of the Loire and Cher rivers, in the Department of Indre-et-Loire, of which it is the capital, in the Centre-Val de Loire region. The commune is the capital of the Tours Val de Loire metropolis and constitutive, with its intercommunality, of one of the 22 official French metropolises.
The municipality, with 137,087 inhabitants in 2019, is at the center of an urban unit of 361,956 inhabitants (in 2019)1, itself the centre of an area of attraction with 519,778 inhabitants2. It is the largest municipality, the largest urban unit and the largest attraction area in the Centre-Val de Loire region, as well as the 15th attraction area of France3. Its intercommunality is, meanwhile, populated by 294,220 inhabitants in 2020, which also makes it the first in the Centre-Val de Loire region by its population.

The White and Blue City is a city of art and history with its Old Tours Remarkable Heritage Site. The garden city5 concentrates a green heritage and an urban landscape strongly influenced by its natural space6. The historic city nicknamed Le Petit Paris7 and its region by its history and culture, have always been a land of birth or reception of many personalities, international sports meetings, university city with more than 30,000 students in 2019. Culinary city with its specialties rillettes, rillons, Vineyards tourangeaux, AOC Sainte-Maure-de-Touraine cheeses and nougats.
Urban area of the Grand Ouest, the city is part of the metropolitan area Val de Loire-Maine. It hosts the 1st employer in the region, the CHRU and many large-scale management establishments. Surrounded by its ring road, in the center of a five-pointed motorway star with the A10, A28 and A85. The agglomeration of Tours is connected to the national network by two stations, in Tours and Saint-Pierre-des-Corps for TER and TGV connections. All regions of France are accessible by train and Tours-Val de Loire Airport is an important regional airport and with some international destinations. The regional newspaper La Nouvelle République, which has its headquarters in Tours and is distributed in the Centre-Val de Loire region and part of Nouvelle-Aquitaine, strengthens its central position.

It's beautiful and lively street of france
I lived there in the summer of 1985 and I will never forget how friendly and amazing the people of Tours were. Actually bought an electric guitar while I was there, but I forgot the name of the guitar maker. Some of these places are exactly as they were when I was there.

I'm 28 yrs old and i live in Tours since i'm 4 yrs old, in the video i saw my actual appartement. When i was younger, i always wanted to leave this town but since 5 years i'm feelin better in it. I'm just use to it and i have so much history in every corner of the town, i finaly realized that this town is beautiful, i mean if it was not, there would not bet as much tourist everywhere and studients coming from all around the world to study french here. Most of them also come here cause there is A LOT of the most famous famous castles of France all around. But yeah, this town definitly have a soul and a history and have a lot of studients. If you come to France, Tours is definitly a town to check for a week if you also want to check the castles. These are the most beautiful castles to check : Château de Chenonceau (the one made on a bridge), Château de Chambord, Château d'Amboise and Château du Clos Lucé (The one that Leonard DaVinci owned)

Tours is a very beautiful city. I've been living there for a few months and enjoyed the trip. It has maintained many old architecture buildings and have a low density of population. I hope to have one day the occasion of going back there and settle in.
