People who are complaining about the 6th Gen will see them in person and be like "it's growing on me" haha.
Absolutely nothing is wrong with the 6th gen, the fender of the wheel wells doesn’t look like an afterthought.
Great refresh in my opinion!
As a 5th gen owner I'd say I like the new design. I think the black fenders look a little weird but everything else looks good to me. On paper it also kept all the features from the last gen that owners really liked while adding new ones a modern car should have. I'd give five years before I fully trust the drive train as that's usually when the problems start to come out if there is any.
People who buy American “it’s going in me”
I think the new 4Runner, Land Cruiser and Tacoma look great! It’s the powertrains I don’t trust. I think the Lexus GX550 Overtrail is the best choice personally….. especially if they come out with a hybrid variant that gives us that turbo V6 with around 26mpg!
While this new 4Runner looks great, I'm disappointed with Toyota. Toyota, like Ford, seems to have given up on making affordable new cars while at the same time, releasing plenty of big expensive 50k plus new cars like the Toyota Crown, this Toyota 4Runner etc. The cheapest new Toyota you can buy now in the USA is a base model 2024 Corolla LE gasoline sedan that ends up being 25k with destination and pre-installed accessories. Nothing below 25k. I wish Toyota had released a new gen Toyota Yaris priced under 20k instead of this new 4Runner
that 4Runner is Amazing. not so much for the Lux design. but for the TRD and for the off road Hunter Trim with the dark bronze wheels. if I have the $$$$ this is what I'm buying. and I'm a Toyota owner already. that would be happy upgrade if I ever have the Cash for it

Where is that extra 5 in in length? In the cabin or in the engine compartment?
The simple reliability is what sells the 4runner. A Hylander is not for a 4runner owner. I will seek out a nice generation 5 unit to purchase. Hopefully, someone will devise a turbo 4 to V6 swap.
That's good a new generation 4Runner is finally here. It's not available to the public yet, but you know what I mean. This new generation 6th generation was long overdue. This 6th generation has a good design. Still has the rugged look like what people are accustomed to. Also, nice features as well as more premium materials used for the interior. Unfortunately, some Toyota 4Runner fans will be disappointed that this new generation will not have the V6 engine available. Depending on how things might go, Toyota might come out with a high performing 4Runner that has a twin turbo V6. Maybe. Maybe just maybe that might happen, but let's see what happens in one or two years from now. Initially when the first generation Toyota Highlander got released back in the early 2000s, there was a big rumor at the time that said it'll replace the 4Runner. Luckily it didn't replace the 4Runner at the time because that first generation Highlander had a different look than the 4Runner. A different look meaning a look that wasn't rugged and a stance that was a pinch lower than the 4Runner. Fast forward today and Toyota last year released the Grand Highlander. They decided to release the Grand Highlander due to the fact that the regular Highlander wasn't spacious enough especially in the third row. In my opinion, maybe Toyota should've called the Grand Highlander the Grand RAV 4 because it basically took either most or all the design cues from the compact size RAV 4 and made it much bigger. Since the release of the Grand Highlander last year 2023 until now, I've seen more than quite of few of them on the road. Depending on how sales figures go, if overall sales for the Grand Highlander more exceed in a short time frame what Toyota initially anticipated, the regular Highlander might get discontinued. Not get discontinued on the spot, but will eventually get discontinued not seeing a new generation for it few years from now. The Toyota luxury brand Lexus had a different approach. Lexus brought out the Lexus TX which immediately replaced the third row seating Lexus RX 350L. A new generation Lexus RX 350 came out, but not a new generation RX 350L. According to Lexus, they said they came out with the TX due to the fact that quote "The RX 350L wasn't roomy enough." That was the same reasoning for the Grand Highlander getting released because the regular Highlander wasn't spacious enough especially in the third row. At the moment the regular Highlander is still standing firm, but if indeed it does get discontinued few years from now not seeing a new generation, nobody should be shocked about that because it would not make sense that Toyota has three mid-size third row seating SUVs in their lineup. Two is enough. Even though the Lexus TX and Toyota Grand Highlander are bigger vehicles, they're still mid-size third row seating SUVs. Couple journalists here and there are saying these two vehicles are full size SUVs, but they're wrong. As for the new 6th generation Toyota 4Runner, overall sales will be good just like previous generations. Toyota will have no issues selling them. Based on selections made from drivers on previous generation Toyota 4Runner vehicles, as for this new generation 4Runner most will buy the trim level that's in the middle. A few will buy the base trim and a few will be the TRD trim.
It looks awesome. and I believe in the 4cylinder turbo engine. Its still Toyota. Made in Japan. it will good.
The worst offender for me design-wise is the piano-black fender flares on the Pro. Matte black is fine or stay consistent with the other PROs and go with the camo print. Otherwise the exterior is pretty good. The only negative on the interior is the Toyota lettering on the dash. I know the designers wanted some visual accent there and its become a design element for Pros, but it's not necessary and will either see aftermarket replacements or a Dremel solution.
I dig the new 6th gen style but it’s a little over the top for me. I mean we’re mostly driving to work and running errands in these things. I’d feel a little goofy in it. I much prefer the styling of the Land Cruiser but it’s out of my price range so give me the 2024 4Runner. Tried and true and still sexy after all these yrs.
There has to be a better way to design that infotainment screen. Round the corners, or have it lower or something.

A small 4cylinder turbo engine is not a good replacement for a mid sized 🚙
Land Cruiser interior looks much better. Big free-floating screens are an eyesore. They look horrible. Not sure why they couldn't integrate the one on the 4runner!
100% overstyled. Land Cruiser looks much better. If I had to pick a new 4Runner I’m going with the limited that looks much cleaner

Let’s face it. Six cylinder diehards won’t buy it. They’ll buy a competitor with a six or eight, and then realize how much reliability they gave up!
That’s why I purchased a 23 GX460 ❤ the V8
They will buy a JGC and realize what a pile it is. The junk 3.6 V6 will be clicking and clacking loudly by 75k miles.
